Agentia H Accommodation
Ranked #96 of 169 Hotels in Bucharest
Reviewed July 26, 2012

Time for a realistic assessment of Agentia H Accommodation. My family (two 40-somethings and a 10-year-old) rented a two-bedroom apartment here for four nights in February just after a massive snowstorm pretty much crippled the entire country. We arrived on a day that the apartment office was closed, so a friend picked up the key for us the day before, picked us up at the airport, and took us to our accommodation. At first glance, this place is a Soviet-style concrete apartment building with no charm whatsoever. The front entry is a bit scary - dirty and smelly. And the lift was a fright - we used it only for getting our luggage in and out. It was tiny and the scariest thing I've ever been in. But our room was on the 7th floor, so the steps weren't really an option with luggage. The 7th floor hall was only slightly better than the entry area, but once through the door of our room, it was an entirely different atmosphere. We entered into a tiny living room (loveseat and a TV mounted on the wall), with a little kitchen table & chairs and kitchen to the right. Everything was clean and bright and quite useable - we did not cook in the room, but we could have. We did use the coffeepot and the microwave. There were two spacious bedrooms with large, comfortable beds, balconies off each room with a city view (and unfortunately filled with snow during our stay), and one bathroom. The bathroom needed some serious repair and updating, but was adequate. The free internet was strong and steady.

We chose this place because it was cheap - we actually slept only two nights at this place and stayed at another hotel in the mountains for two nights, but we wanted to leave the majority of our stuff at the Bucharest hotel instead of hauling it to the mountains with our friends in their small car, so this seemed to be our best option. It worked out perfectly for us. We felt safe in the apartment, it was bright and cheery in our room, and once we got past the entry and the elevator, everything was fine. It was somewhat of an adventure, though, I will admit! And our Romanian host, who lives with his family in Bucharest, thought we were crazy, but he liked the apartment too and ended up agreeing that we had done the right thing. This is not the place for everyone - if you're looking for a perfect hotel, this ain't the place. But for an inexpensive, centrally located apartment in Bucharest, it worked. And for our final stamp of approval: we would stay there again.

I was the party leader when we walked away after seeing the apartment (see my friend's review). To be fair: the apartments are in a great location in the city centre; we booked via the Internet at short notice on a Sunday when the office is not usually open and the guy who was there was very helpful in showing us the apartment; when it became clear that we had not realised what the apartments would be like the company offered us an apartment in a more modern block and then agreed a full refund without a quibble. If you are looking for low priced accommodation in the city centre and you are not too fussy, this may be for you. The photos had raised our expectations too far. For the low price you get a good location and helpful people but don't expect 5star luxury.

Booked this accommodation based on the photos on Trip Advisor, boy was I wrong to do so!

Arrived to a horrible, nasty and shabby looking grafitti ridden hovel of an appartment block. Lift was filthy and had broken glass in door. Entrance hall smelt terrible and the front door to the block didn't secure shut and it wouldn't open enough to allow easy access.

Apartment was terrible with filthy carpet and dated appliances, cooker rings had seen better days. Everything about the place was just nasty and creepy!!

I did not feel safe at the apartment block so we declined and terminated our booking on the spot and checked into the Ibis instead which was a much more pleasant experience.

I would strongly advise anybody visiting Bucharest to avoid Argentia H Accomodation like the plague!

It was just great. The location on the heart of the city maximum 30 minutes walking from all the important places. Price was very convenient. They are doing also different type of tours in Romania , I didn't have time to get one but there were very cheap. I recomand this place!

We stayed in one of the apartments of Agentia H in Bucharest for 6 days in August this year. The apartment was really nice, updated with all amenities (air-conditioner, wi-fi, TV, washer, full kitchen and full bathroom).
Large apartment with lots of storage space lots of sunlight, really clean. We had it cleaned every 2 days, which was something unexpected, when you rent an apartment.
The location is quite amazing. Right in the centre of the city and close to all sights, restaurants, shopping.
The manager of the place was very helpful and really nice. He was very accommodating and really a great host.
We'll go back next time for sure.
