It is undoubtedly a lovely museum with some great works of art, but the most interesting thing about this place is that they annually hold tons of cultural events where you can look at art from different perspectives.

the museum is pretty large, it shows the arts of Romania starting with BC times. the Building has 3 or 4 floors, the upper ones being occupied mainly by paintings.
it is worth the visit as it houses the best Romanian art and it is realistic mirror of Romania.

I would have passed on this, but I paid the admission so I continued through. Not my "cup o' tea", a bit boring.

We rushed throug the museum in 75 minutes as we were there a bit late. They sure have a lot, but start at the top, from modern art. down to the icons on the loser levels. All is beautiful restorated after the breakdown in 1989.

The had quite a selection of paintings which I enjoyed. I don't know all the artist, but there were many including two by Charlie Chaplin (yes, that Charlie Chaplin!) There were some very nice marble sculptures as well depicting biblical stories.

The main floor had many ottoman empire artifacts, carvings, paintings on wood, cloaks with gold and sliver thread and furs.

There is a fee (we were on a tour, so I don't know the price.) Check the website (above)
