“Great value for a business trip”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Stayed here on a business trip for over two weeks - the hotel was a great value and would rate it with 5 stars but the gym was closed down for renovation during our stay.

Good:
- very friendly and helpful staff
- clean, nicely decorated and specious rooms
- breakfast, parking and internet included in very reasonable rate

Bad:
- gym closed down for renovation but was not informed during booking

The room was very large and spacious and felt nice and light and airy. The bathroom was ok, nothing to write home about but average. The bed was awful, rock hard mattress. I was in a room with twin beds so slept on top of one of the duvets but it was still hard through this, the carpet started to look more appealing!!! The free wifi is a real plus though. I'm not sure about the location as I was here on business and did not visit anywhere. The breakfast was thoroughly average and really could have been better. Some fresh fruit would have been lovely (not out of a tin like it was then).

All in all a nice hotel, not sure if it is 4* but the rooms are lovely and spacious and that with the free wifi makes up for everything else

I only stayed one night and don't have anything else to compare this hotel in Bucharest. Checked in without any issues very late on a freezing night. Room was large, warm and with easy to control temperature and ventilation. An basic minibar was all the hotel had to offer at that time of the day. Bathroom was clean but elementary both in terms of facilities and in terms of toiletries on offer. The mattress was on the hard side but that is fine with me -it seemed a good quality mattress. The bed sheets though were worn and definitely did not feel or smell fresh. The pillows same even worse... For some reason the pillows were laid over the duvet therefore in direct contact with the bed cover. We all know how clean bed covers are and how much they are appreciated by guests... Breakfast the following day was very average. On the plus side was the furniture and decor in the dining area and the lobby.

This hotel has very good location. In walking distance to the city centre. But the hotel is quite odl and almost all the rooms are smoking rooms. We were here for 2 nights. We booked non-smoking room, but everything was full. There was cigarett smoke in the room. Rooms are big enough, but breackfast was really poor for 4* hotel. For me the hotel is max 3* in international standard. If you expect 4* standard choose another hotel in Bucharest.

We booked the hotel just for the night after the Bon Jovi's concert. It is very close to the City's center. The room was really huge, the bed was king's and the bathroom was huge too. Good breakfast and frendly staff.

Whilst the hotel was okay, I would like to warn anybody travelling to this hotel on a 2 night trip through Groupon that we have just had a nightmare. The flights were through a company called Blue Air who were just awful, very nasty cheap airline where nobody spoke English, you fly into the small airport in Bucharest which is bad in itself but be prepared for the return flight, you are virtually packed into a small departure lounge like sardines in a can, where you will queue for upto an hour maybe more in 2 lines for the passport/security, it is very distressing for 2 english girls on their own, thank goodness my elderly mother wasnt with us, it was very frightening. The 3 course meal you are offered is appalling, we opted to stay in the hotel and whilst their normal menu appeared very nice, we were given a piece of A4 paper where the menu was printed in Romanian on the back of an old email, the food was well below average. The hotel was very clean, rooms were big and clean, but unfortunately the location is in a backstreet and there was no way we would have ventured out in the dark on our own, there were some dubious looking men about, but then the hotel did have plenty of leaflets offering the men folk "erotic massages". We also had to complain to the reception as we had a room full of men next to us speaking in their native tongue, very loudly, with the door wide open, shouting and screaming on the balcony, therefore we had 2 nights of non-sleep. We basically couldnt wait to get home and back to sanity from what we considered a country still to be living like a communist country. I am sure if you are there on business then it would be fine, but if you are considering buying this deal as part of Groupon, on your own head be it - you will regret it.

The room was big, but the furniture was a little old and my window led to roof of next building and there was some noise coming through the window. I didn't feel so well, there are definitely better choices in Bucharest.
