There are forty-one fountains along the grand avenue. One for each Romanian state. The biggest is for Bucharest as it is the capital.

90% of them have no water, the pipes are damaged, and the mosaic tiles are falling off, missing, or vandalized.

The associated park is nice in the evening as the sun sets. Shady, cool and full of people strolling about.

As an attraction, I think we are all ten years too late to see them at their peak.

This used to be a great place, unfortunately it is not being taken care of and is quite literally falling apart. The fountains are not functioning any more, or at least were not when we were there, with the exception of a single one. It's a sorry sight and a real pity!

Landmark in Bucharest. It is the place where you can find many shops gathered. The focus of the Romanian capital.

Piata Unirii (Unirii Square) is at the crossroads of the city. It is the chosen gathering place for many. There is Unirii Shopping Center of course with its H&M and other big stores.

the Unirii Square in it's one of the biggest crossings in bucharest so night and day there will be a lot of traffic and car noise here. the fountains - which are beautiful - don't run all the time and when they do some are broken, they have been broken for the last 10-15 years but who cares. also the park here it's really not the most beautiful one in the city very simple not for relaxation.

come after 21.00 or later when you can take beautiful pictures with the illuminated house of parliament (you can come particular for this as the view is very good). also from unirii square you have all kind of public transport that can take you almost in all the parts of the city
