You will something for everyone in this area. Places to eat, nightclubs and bars, and lot of open areas to sit, relax and make friends.

The same type of place as anywhere else in Europe -- Barcelona, Lisbon, Athens: pedestrian-only area filled with restaurants, cafes, little shops and street performers.

Great people watching and coffee drinking. A bonus is that most places accept credit cards.

Eclectic mix of restaurants and clubs and shops. Great place to just wander or stop for a coffee on a patio and people watch.

We took a taxi to the old part of town on a Sunday evening last week of February. It was cold and light rain. i did not think there would be many people walking about. The bars and restaurants
were full and plenty of people walking about. We did not try any of the pubs but I would recommend taking time to see the old town area the buildings were beautiful and full of history. My only regret was not having more time to enjoy the area due the cold temperature and rain that night.

The old town section has some interesting architecture but also has some shops to be ignored. There is a small cafe, Chocolat De Gout or the "Boutique" that is a great place to stop for coffee, hot chocolate, or lunch Some of the best, and prettiest, pastries to be found anywhere.
