“Cozy park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Largest park in Bucharest is suitable for lots of things: running, walking, biking, playing tennis, spending time with family (little kids have also places to entertain). It has also some restaurants with mainly Italian food, good quality price ratio. Over summer weekends it is usually overcrowded. Another problem could be the stray dogs although not at all aggressive. Sometimes you can find near the big wheel in the Northern part some horses ready to be ridden by small kids. Squirells are at home there, just like St. James's.

“THE Park in Bucharest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

Herastrau is for Bucharest is what Central Park is for NY,or Englische Garten for Munchen, respecting the proportions. It has lots of green,a main lake (actually the lake gave the park's name),that you can sail by small boats,or cross over by larger boats that take tourists across the lake. The park itself offers you an occasion to walk, cycle or roll in a beautiful spot.It has bike/rollers tracks and spots where you can buy a snack, water or juice.
It is still far from the parks of the european capitals,it lacks in management, but,it is fairly clean and you will not regret the visit. You can enter, parking is ok,from the Bulevardul Aviatorilor-Hard Rock Caffee entrance,or by subway station-Aviatorilor.If you are closer to Floreasca, there is an entrance on the East side of the lake,by Restaurant Isoletta.

“The best park in Bucharest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

Herastrau is perfect for lazy weekend afternoon walks, especially so if you don't mind thousands of other Bucharestians doing the same. There are also many restaurants and cafés around. Although there is a stray dog problem in the city and not all places are recommended for jogging, Herastrau is pretty safe for exercise.

“Herăstrău, the soul of Bucharest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

Just walk around the lake, it will relax you as nothing else does ! You can enter the park from many sites around Bucharest. You can enter one gate and find your way out after hours, or after minutes, it's up to you what way in and what way out you choose.
You can spend all day long in the park, you can hire a boat you can cross the huge lake by a motor boat, you can also have lunch or dinner or just coffee.
Have a nice day in Herăstrău and a wondrful stay in România !!!

“Beauty of autumn colours”

I currently live in Bucharest and Herastrau Park is the biggest of all parks in the city.
It surrounds a huge lake and you can do all kind of activities there: go on the boat, bike riding, take long walks to admire the view.
It also has duck and swans on the lake, which is a bonus from me.
The design of the park is really nice.
