“Very cool old building”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

Our guide took us here and we would have missed it. Lots of good history and neat architecture in this building. We didn't try any of the restaurants but they looked good.

“Step back in time!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

A former Caravanserai, this place oozes history. Four beautiful old buildings surround a big courtyard square where you can enjoy a meal and/or drink. Or you can choose a place on the balconies that surround the square, or stay inside. The restaurant areas are divided into sectors, each of which serves a different kind of food.
It would be a magnificent place. What drags it down is the service, which can only be described as very poor. During the several times I was there, the waiters were consistently unfriendly to the point of condescension.
The place itself deserves a much higher rating, but I guess the history of it brings in enough customers so that the management considers service superfluous.

“Have coffee and meal in a real 1800's inn”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

It became functional in the summer of 2012 as a restaurant after first set of restoration was finalised by the owners. Delicious set of traditional food, very good service and outstanding inner yard view. Is like have a coffee and dinner in middle of the 1800's.
The inn was built in 1808, The building was nationalized 19 February 1949. Ownership was restored to Prince Şerban-Constantin Cantacuzino in February 2007.

“Travel back in time”

Amazing structure, like a movie set from the 1800's. Large inn with inner courtyard, wooden balustrades. You can almost imagine the din and bustle a la Robin Hood in it's heydey.
