Go to the side door, on right as looking at front. Say “visit” and someone will take your money and show you into the lobby. The lobby is beautiful with pink marble columns and ceiling decorated in gold leaf. Upstairs the auditorium has a fresco of 25 Romanian historical scenes, it was a shame there was no leaflet describing it. Really beautiful and must not be missed.

Many of the natives consider it the most beautiful building in Bucharest. Original and imposing arhitecture outside , The inside is astonishing , valuable for foreigners but especially for Romanians who can read their own history from the fantastic frescoe from the walls

The Ateneul is a little gem in Bucharest; the facade is neo-classical style, but the interior are really interesting. The theater was built at the end of XIX century by a French architect who was inspired by Art Noveau. Very beautiful the decoration and the dome of the grand room.
It is the location of "G. Eanescu" philarmonic orchestra. I was so lucky to be admitted, thank to the kindness of the porter, so I was able to visit the place, to enter in the grand room where the orchestra was practicing (a great emotion fo me) and to go in the little room (downstairs) where there was the exhibition of a nice & clever soprano and a tenor (Italian and Romanian arias). It was a wonderful experience for me.
