“Great place to wander, A very historical place.”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Obviously the history surrounding the Revolution square already makes it an interesting place. Would recommend reading a little of the history behind it before going or using a guided tour to go and understand the importance of the Landmark

“Interesting”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

The square itself is nothing extraordinary, but it has a lot of recent history, and therefore very memorable for the locals. May not be of much significance or architectural interest to others.

“Guided site was interesting”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

Our guide took us here and the history was fascinating but you would not think is much of a stop without the guide giving you the history and their personally memories for the revolution. A must see to understand Romanian culture but I recommend having a guide.

“Romanian Communist Party Headquarters”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Piata Revolutiei is the square where both the Communist party and dreaded Securitate (Romanian KGB) headquarters were located. The old party headquarters building is a somewhat non-nondescript building with a balcony that afforded the 'great leader' pronouncements and speeches. The also non-nondescript Securitate building is located directly across the narrow side street on the left side of the party headquarters. It's significance is that it is the location of the last stand and start of the fall of the the Communist dictator Ceauşescu and his even more mean spirited wife Elena.

“One of the iconic areas of Bucharest”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

One of the iconic areas of Bucharest, the place where the Revolution started in the city, with the balcony where Nicola Ceausescu had his last speech.
