If you like Romanian peasant culture, you can't miss this. Embroidery, wood carving, and everything else well displayed and explained.

“Free on Sunday, next to Natural History and the park!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Really liked it, would have loved a tour though. We flew through, and skipped the upstairs which had a lot things we would have liked to have seen. Our little one was asleep on me, not really a good place for toddlers though. Not a lot of context to put all the artifacts in without a tour, and the write-ups of each exhibit are virtually non-existant, but it was still enjoyable to see how people live(d) in the countryside in Romania.

“Interesting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

The museum has the potential to be outstanding. But there was very skittle English translation on the printed materials and no audio provided. As a visual it was interesting, but difficult to understand the details of the exhibit.

If you want to spend few hours and to get a good point of view regarding rural architecture in Romania, also if you want to see the traditional objects that are fillign a romanian house in villages i think this is the best place to be. is a great museum and is worth every single minute you can spend here!

“Not so great”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2013

The staff made us feel like we were more of an inconvience. They followed us around staring, never smiled and even rolling their eyes at us. Must of the items didn't have any discreption telling about them the ones that did were only in Romanian. It might have been more interesting if I could have understood what I was looking at and the significance of the item.
There are too many other places that are better to visit in Bucharest. The one item we did enjoy was the famers market held on the back side of the museum. There were some great deals to be had and don't be afraid to haggle over the prices.
