Our travels from Plovdiv were messed up due to train issues so we ended up getting into Bucharest 7 hours early and showed up unannounced at 530am. We were welcomed and shown to our room and fed with no worries. The rooms are huge the showers are straight out of Star Trek and the staff couldn't be more helpful. By far the softest beds I've ever slept in for a hostel.
Location makes everything accessible and the owner came down and had breakfast with us everyday and advised the best way to get places. Called us a taxi and made sure the driver knew not to charge us insane prices.
Bucharest is gorgeous in the snow. The dogs mind their business if you leave the alone they return the favor. The taxi drivers are like those in all countries, they will charge you what they think they can get away with, you just have to understand what you're expecting to pay and stick to it.
Couldn't recommend it more.More
