“Magic”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

I had the chance to spent a Kabalat Shabat in the same synagogue my father used to go about 60 years ago. The Rabbi welcomed us very warmly and the environment of this resistant Jewish community is magical.

“The Great Synagogue is a museum”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

The synagogue was turned into a museum depicting the history of Jews in Romania

I wish there would be more on WWII but the rest was great and don't hesitate to ask the guide, she is the living memory of the Jewish community

I learned a lot about the Dacian era and the first jewish presence in this country

Don't hesitate to pay a visit

“The biggest and most beautiful Synagogue”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Situated in the old city center of Bucharest, the building is a marvel of architecture. The outside is paved with yellowish brick which gives it a certain personality in the town. In front of it is a big Menora sign and this is the place where not only the few left Romanian Jewish believers are praying but people of mosaic religion from all over the world visiting Bucharest come daily to pray.
