“Don't miss it!”

Superbly decorated orthodox church right in the middle of the Lipscani district or "old Bucharest".
There's a lovely little lady inside who is very chatty (she didn't mind my very basic Romanian) and the decorations and icons are superb.
Nice little courtyard outside, where you can catch your breath.
Very pleased to see how many people pop in for a quick prayer.

“impressive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

This is one of the oldest churches in Bucharest, and it was renovated recently. It is a great visit! In a central location, surrounded by numerous other attractions. Lipscani is right there, Carul cu Bere (do go inside that one, it is amazing!), the National History Museum, the old CEC building and the National Bank of Romania.

“tiny and stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

A strikingly decorated and well-preserved orthodox church. There are great frescoes and icons, and this all in a tiny space where its hard to imagine more than about 15 people worshiping at one time.

It's an small church located between blocks. You should see the old tombstones from the left side, in the yard.... many of them have been made in 1850-1870.

“Nice and hidden!”

A pretty and hidden little church right in the center of Bucharest, looks more like a tiny castle than a church ,with a gotic feeling and a very nice interior garden!
