Owner description: This outdoor museum includes more than 300 buildings representing the history of Romania's rural architecture.

This place offers the best flavors of the old rural atmosphere.
A wide range of old houses from all historical counties of Romania have been placed in the middle of a cosmopolitan city, bridging the time and the spirits.

This outdoor park houses some of the homes that were moved here from different parts of Romania. It is a great vision of how life was lived in different time periods. Some of the homes are complete with kitchen utensils, tools and clothing. The walk around is beautiful as there is a lake and a park nearby. A number of gardens around these different houses are planted nicely with flowers as well.

There are a lot of different homes here, from various points in history. Each is unique and very interesting. It is nice to stroll through here and explore each vignette. Definitely worth the trip/fee!

Wants to see a museum while walking and taking advantage of a nice day in Bucharest?
Go there ! You will not regret.
I visited it several times, since 27 years ago, when my boy (being 7 years old) invited me to have a nice walk together.
Real representative houses from each corner of Romania since more than 100 years ago, where carefully dismounted and re-assembled in this park. Most of them are "populated" with original pieces of furniture, tools, instruments, clothes to offer us a closer picture of life at that period.
Almost all the time you can meet popular artists showing their original but still traditional talents in music, painting, food preparation, and so on. Look on internet to identify special events. During spring-summer-autumn you can find them almost each week-end and not only.

Typical houses from all over Romania in one spot with descriptions of the house, a map of the location for this type of house, etc. Interesting because some of the houses have a more Mediterranean look while others look more like chalets. Time yourself with an hour for the visit and be sure to look in the gift shop which has some lovely locally made items.
