Each house was dissassembled at its original location (villages across the country) and brought here, then re-assembled. I found that fascinating, hope it's true =) The interiors are done well and the styles of the houses vary depending on the area they come from. The grounds are well-kept, with flowers, vegetable fields (corn, tomatoes, eggplant) and some chickens.

Make sure you visit on a nice day, as the stroll is super pleasant. There are small kiosks & tables set up all around for crafts shopping- not overpriced and very unique.

Super enjoyable attraction.

The museum is amazing and if u are a big fan of the details you will be satisfied because every little small detail it s perfect for every construction u ll find in the museum. Perfect for spending a nice afternoon. Just a hint ..... don t buy anything , food or drinks, from the inside boutiques because the quality it s extremely poor, it s just pure fake romanian traditional food and drinks. Just enjoy the museum with a bottle of water in your hand. It s perfect !

Even in the rain, this museum was amazing. Easy to get to, gorgeous outdoor space and greenery. Could not believe how big and diverse it was. Numerous houses, churches, windmills, water wheels, and barns (even saw a chicken and think I smelled a cow). Went on and on. Great culture and history. Gave me a deeper appreciation for Romanian life. I really enjoyed the fun, open space!

well, you have to come to this open museum with your snickers, as you should walk threw it, and see some great houses from different parts of Romania, throughout the centuries. the place is very well maintained and cleanand.
For the regular museum visitor it should take an hour and half to two hours.
