The oldest natural museum in Romania presents a large range of animals in " dioramas " ( show the animals in their natural habitat ). The exhibits are well preserved and organised in a logical order with an emphasis on the Romanian fauna without neglecting other area of the world.
Be aware that parking can be a problem....maybe use public transport to get there

The ticket is a bit expensive for what they have inside. It is 20 lei, one of the most expensive museums in Bucharest, and the animals inside are old and dusty, the variety is not that great, some of them ( the fish) are plastic. They have a couple of mammoth skeletons, which is neat, but on the overall, it is a little disappointing.

This beautiful museum has a spectacular collection of native fauna, displayed by each of Romania's ecoregions. After a spectacular cave exhibit (with little interpretation unfortunately) you move into more generalized specimens from all over the world. Sadly, the rest of the exhibits we never got to see. The floor is one way, and the addition of the traveling (human bodies, which we did not want to see) exhibit kept us from seeing more. This left it feeling quite small (we saw all of the lower and ground levels).
