“Authentic Romanian cuisine with fantastic service”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

If you want to experience true Romanian cooking without joining the hoards of beautiful people in the old town then this is perfect for you. The menu is only in Romanian but the staff were very helpful with descriptions of the dishes.
Do take the starter for two - this consists of cold cured and smoked meats, local soft cheese, sausage, cucumber, peppers, olives, tomatoes and onion.
The mixed grill is fantastic value too - the waiter correctly suggested this would also be more than enough for two people. Grab a couple of local beers and the house dessert of apple and cinnamon pie and layered chocolate cake and you'll still pay no more than £30 for two including a healthy tip. Amazing value and brilliant service.

“An original menu”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

I've been there with a group of colleagues. We made a reservation and also we choosed the food in advance, so that it was served fast after our arrival, but barely warm. I had "Tigaie munteneasca (picanta)": a mix of beef, pork, chiken and vegetables, a tasty combination, spoiled by the not well cooked pieces of beef, which I had to leave on the plate. The dessert saved the day: "Pere in sos caramel cu inghetata", a delicious sweet sour combination of caramelized pears and ice cream.
They have a very original menu, in shape of a newspaper. Good prices.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

I've been there last night with the coleagues. Great atmosphere, the staff arranged a private part of the restaurant so we could be by ourselves, which was great. The music made me jump on my seat, while the service was at its best. I had the mutton pastrami which was perfectly grilled, but the biscuits cake was too sweet and buttery for my taste. Can't wait for the next visit.
