Beautiful hotel, very good location and professional staff. Because of his central location you find that this hotel is always busy. The hotel is in a high class shopping area, and It is only 10 minutes away from the amazing old city, Where you can walk and enjoy your afternoon, have dinner, or visit a night club. All its facilities are clean and well maintained. The environment at the pool is very good for a family. We didn't have any bad experience during this stay as we went by the book, keep your precious belongings inside the safe at anytime you leave your room, this is a general rule we follow wherever we are around the world. The staff were very professional and very helpful. We will definately stay in Radisson Blu, next time we visit Bucharest

Room Tip: We were staying in an executive club room which gives access to the club lounge. I felt it is worth every penny specially between 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm

This very lovely hotel is cosmopolitan and fully loaded. The people are nice as can be. Great outdoor spa pool, plus an indoor and an outdoor. The breakfast buffet is very good (not the best-best I've ever had but lots and lots of choices). And there is a casino right there if you're into that sort of thing. Fun to see the ladies dressed up.

The location, of course, is the best thing about the Blu. You can stroll over to the opera house where very affordable shows go on, and in the summer, the plaza right next to it sets up all sorts of outdoor music fests. Which means lots of restaurants! Especially Italian. They call Bucharest the Paris of the East but you've got to throw a little Rome in there, too. Had a lovely dinner on the patio directly across the street from the Blu. Buy your water in the teeny convenience store just around the corner (just past the ATM machine where the little gypsy kids hang out. Please don't encourage them - they're practically relentless as it is!)

Old Town is walkable or you can take a taxi for a tiny bit of cash. Try the department store across from the main entrance - it's got a little of everything and fun to see. Museums up and down Victoriel, a major road there.

With taxis so cheap you can catch one up to the Village Museum if you want to see homes, churches and farms brought in from all over Romania. You'll also see lots of statues and the triumphal arch (really a lot like Paris').

The two most important things to see might be the People's Palace, built by dictator Nikolai Ceausescu during the otherwise drab Communist years, which is pretty spectacular (note: bring a packet of kleenex with you, however; they show off tons of marble and woodwork and carpets...but not every toilet has paper). And you won't want to miss the square just down the road from the Radisson Blu where Ceausescu gave his last speech, then ran away from the boo-ing audience by helicopter off the roof. Neat monument there. Have a local tour guide tell you about it. Apparently everyone remembers where they were that cold December day in 1989.

Room Tip: Probably ask for a room overlooking the pool.

I usually do not stay in luxury hotels so I don't notice the extras (I usually travel in simple but clean business class hotels). However, I enjoyed the couple of nights I stayed at the Radisson Blu in Bucharest. Firstly, I had a large one bedroom suite for the equivalent of $350 Cdn. If we're being honest, in a large metropolitan area like Toronto $350 in a top hotel wouldn't get you nearly as far as it did for me at the Radisson. Yes it is very expensive for the local environment, but you would have to look very carefully to even find such a hotel in Toronto. Also, the outdoor pool is a mecca of people, particularly interesting businessmen from other countries and beautiful women too...lol. I was able to have very pleasant conversations with guests and staff alike at the poolside bar and the poolside restaurant. The food at the restaurant is excellent, the cleaning staff cleaned my suite twice a day (first time I've ever experienced that), and when I had an issue with the air conditioning the engineering department came and didn't leave until the job was completely resolved. The concierge is very helpful for subtle but important things like arranging reliable taxis (very important in Bucharest and a great advantage when you stay at a 5 star hotel). I had an excellent time and will be back again for sure.

Room Tip: The bigger and more luxurious rooms offer greater value in comparison to back home. If you want to splurge to try an ultra luxury hotel for a couple of nights this hotel offers excellent value.

I visited Bucharest in several business trips and in a couple personal visits with colleagues or with my wife.
The possibility, even when I have a very busy agenda, to have a couple of hour on the pool in a city as Bucharest makes a big difference to the other hotels.
The Lobby Bar is also very good all the year.
