We enjoyed our visit to this small museum despite the lack of English. As expected, we saw some crafts such as woodworking and lace (1st salon) and the clothing of various ethnic groups (18th salon - the last room). Along the way, we also saw numerous displays of their natural history (lots of bones and fossils including a fully reconstructed dinosaur resembling an elephant with downward tusks). Note, there were many displays based on "stuffed" animals. For those who are "sensitive" to this type of thing, I would comment that they were done quite tastefully and displayed in front of nicely painted backdrops. The museum is in an interesting building with several stained glass windows. Many of the exhibits are in the basement. Bathrooms are in a nearby building and are squat-style (bring your own paper).

I visited this museum which is very interesting with a lot of info to grasp and a lot of culture about Moldova, but our only problem was that we were on bicycles and they could not accommodate them. They should rise the bar of their service at another level if they want to attract tourists. The overall experience, I think it worth the money.

The building itself is a beautiful combination of Ottoman and Orthodox influences. The museum itself is well done.

Confusing - why is a small model of Trajan's column in Rome on display? Why is the first display in the 20th Century room that of some 19th Century pieces?
Lazy - at times the displays have just generalised comments which are no help at all.
Wrong - things are mislabelled. A censer is labelled a candleholder.
Strange - lights only come on in the rooms when you go - good power saving, but odd.
