“Nice place for one night...”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

Spent a night at this hotel with my family.
Average hotel with a little bit unpleasant environment, big issue was thin walls (as well as ruinous floor) so you could hear almost anything from other rooms and that could effect your sleep quality...moreover, they has to pay a more attention on cleanliness...smelly towels in bathrooms and dirty sheet blankets is something that 3 star hotel cannot allow it!

We arrived into this hotel after a delayed flight from Istanbul. Easy to find just off a main highway. Very quiet location and opposite a small supermarket. Free parking for our rental car and great service. Rooms had card keys and were clean and sanitary. Good lighting and quiet. We got told about where to visit, maps an directions and help with our rental car information. The service was above what was expected. Breakfast was filling and tasty, much better than expected, great cheese selection. Walking distance easily to town, about ten to fifteen minutes and about 25 to the edge of the old town. Would stay again, only one concern is the flooding shower, however all the places I have gone on to stay in Croatia have this same problem, must be a Croatia special! :p

We found that this city seemed to be split into an Old Zagreb and a more highrise, modern Zagreb.l
Hotel lisinski is in the more working class area, but retains some of what would have been say 1940's grandeur. Everywhere was clean, and the mother (?) was as helpful as could be expected and the daughter was as many younger people are, sort of " Well, yes, now that you ask me ---". The self-serve breakfast area was sufficiently well stocked and varied.
Within a few hundred metres were a bar, a friendly English speaking economical restaurant and a decidedly non-English speaking hairdresser. Walking distance away is a library fronting that area's main tram/ car route to the city centre.
As elsewhere in Croatia everyone is friendly even if non-English speakers ( rare ) and all prices are very low.

The hotel building is apparently a junction of pre-existing houses which undergone a bit of renovation, situated in a dodgy neighbourhood. Did not make the best impression at all upon arrival. Everything was set on cheap style: almost no water going out of the shower, poor breakfast with items from discounter supermarket. Definitely overpriced.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The location is ok... close enough to the center of the city, but probably not worth the price. The staff was friendly enough & helpful. You can do worse, but you can probably do better also.

Not recommend for those 5’10” and more. Sheets, thin cotton comforter, and blankets are cut to fit exactly on top of the single bed. Woe to any body parts that stick out. Thin walls and thin ceilings make ear plugs a must. Just 20 minutes from the train station—if you can find it. (Head under tunnel toward the rear of the station, proceed until you are standing at the edge of a broad boulevard directly alongside of the Lisinski Music Hall.) Cross the boulevard—carefully; now proceed straight ahead, until you see a set of stairs on your left; these lead down to the narrow street the hotel is on. Turn right and proceed until you come to the hotel.). Basic breakfast buffet—very strong coffee, but hot milk available. Other guests mostly business people.

We spent there a weekend, and hotel is very nice and clean inside, and the rooms are very nice. We had parking for free, and the lokation is OK, not to far from the center. The breakfast was also good, and the stuff decent. The neighbourhood is not very nice, and from outside Hotel looks like an old bar (because the hotel is narrow but long, and the rooms are in the basement and on the first floor), so it seems like a small house with couple of rooms.
