I was taken to ManO by a friend who eats out a lot, so I switched of my [--] detector too soon.

Place looks like a hangout for kids of Zagreb's Nouvelle Riche and gold diggers past their prime. Location is good, just after the last bars in Tkalciceva st.

We were greeted by a very young waiter, probably high school kid who needs to complete his work experience. He recommended few things off menu and was explaining in great lengths what is USDA beef. Too funny and enthusiastic to be stopped, obviously used to footballers and WAGs.

The place takes cover charges and in exchange offers some Kraft Philadelphia look a like spread with green peas. No, I don't understand either.

Wine list is mostly for decorative purposes, since reasonable wines are not available. Waiter will be happy to offer some wines not on the list, luckily we did not fall for that.

Mushroom risotto was below par, truffle shavings were not as aromatic as one would expect, bland altogether, wonder where are those truffles coming from. Rib eye steak was OK, excellent by Croatian standards, average by North American.

The biggest surprise was the bill: rib eye which is not in the menu was priced almost twice as much as a fillet which is in the menu. BTW, more expensive than Ruth Chris! Bill was still too high and when I started checking item by item, I realized we were charged 3 risottos instead of 1 and extra bottle of water! The bill did not meet legal requirements (unique transaction number) of Croatian tax authorities which made such scam attempts easy. After complaint, only 1 risotto was removed and incorrect bill was presented again. I've traveled whole Middle East, Africa and most of Asia and this is the first place where they've tried to trick me twice with the bill. Staff was not apologetic, but irritated.

Recommendation: If you are social ladder climber or gangster wannabe, you might still want to go there. For the love of God, don't order anything which is not priced in the menu and make sure one stays sober to check the bill at the end.

The atmosphere is good and friendly. Service is slow, unprofessional and very saucy.
The steaks are huge and reasonably priced, and the wine was ok (we had the Plavac Mali). However, the actual steak, whilst big, was disappointing. Poorly seasoned, a bit more medium than medium rare, and they didn't brown the fat.
If you are not too fussy about your steak, or courtesy services, then it would be a good place. Whilst by no means a food connoisseur, I enjoy my steak and so the experience left me slightly underwhelmed.

Nice interior design, great vibe on terrace especially on summer evenings, inventive food, check things that are on daily offer, pricey but worth it....

This is in my opinion the best restaurant in Zagreb. Place for big and romantic anniversary. Great choice of wines, stakes and my favorite jammon iberico.

Nice, old brick building with modern interior and very pleasant terrasse on small, quite street... Simple menu, with delicious meat - beef tagliata was excellent - and nice starters; good, local-focused wine list - both are making it a good place for a calm lunch
