For myself I cannot say Iam a Pizzamaster, but definitely Karijola has the best pizzas in Zg.They really use only the best ingredients, as buffalo mozarella, smoked ham, cherry tomaotes.Maybe prices are higher but you get the best for it.Try iT!

Most people probably never tried better pizza then this pizza. Pizza is made of special thiny dough and with lot of content. They put only mozzarela and first class smoked ham or prosciuto. Of course they put prosciuto only few minutes at the end. They have pizzeria on the beautiful island Vis.

I visited Karijola in Kranjceviceva street and must admit that I had bigger expectations from this place.
Didn't like the interior. Pizza was quite thin and little burned.

First of all, be aware that there are 2 locations for this Pizzeria. I went to the one on Vlaska 63 that is not far from the Cathedral. Secondly, there is nothing difficult to find it. It is clearly marked with a sign at the entrance. Third, this is an authentic Italian pizza place, not your generic High Street, Main Street pizza. So, if you are not used to the taste of real pizza, this is not the place for you. These 3 comments takes care of some of the comments from earlier reviews.

Unfortunately, the first impression is not very welcoming. I went on a Sunday late evening, and there was no one greet you. There is a terrace outside perched up a flight of stairs, and behind it is the main dining room and the kitchen that you can see, including the small wood fired oven. Yes, there is a wood fired oven, and that was encouraging. However, it was too cold to sit outside, and the dining room was chilly too, since the door was kept open all the time and there as no heating in the space. However, they do have an English menu, and the guy ( almost a one man show) spoke English.

Whenever I see white pizza on the menu, I know I am in the right place. Stick with it and you will enjoy a piping hot, crisp, thin crust Neapolitan style pizza that is slightly larger than typical. However, the buffalo mozzarella was a bit disappointing. Also, I had a glass of local red wine, and it was a bit flat, no doubt coming from a bottle that had sat open for a long time.

Prices are very reasonable. No credit card, only cash. This is primarily a pizza place though they do have a few other items on the menu. Stick with the pizza.
