This is the best of the museum tours if you like modern design, the stuff is just great. Located right across from Marshall Tito Square. I got it on the right day and the admission was free, but the standard is only 20 kuna ($4.00)
My only advice, they have some great design posters in the place. I like posters to show where i have been, it is an inexpensive way to show the trip and to decorate walls. None of their posters were for sale :( and there were some great ones that announced museum events.

Beautiful wrought-iron staircases take visitors from one floor to the other in the wonderful museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb. We spent about two hours looking at the displays are were most impressed. (We would have stayed longer, but we'd arleady been for a long walk and our legs would not co-operate!) Being a collector of glass myself, I particularly appreciated the glassware. And the displays of furniture were lovely.

We were not intending to visit this museum, however were passing by and decided to visit it. We were very glad that we had taken the chance to visit! The building that houses this museum is attractive in its own right.

The museum has a wide and varied collection of arts and crafts from approximately the 1500's though to roughly the 1990's. The collection has a Croatian focus, however also has a diverse and often surprising range of art and crafts from many locations.

The collections on display include furniture, paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, silverware, clothing, posters, etc. All in all a very diverse collection that - according to staff - has been slowly collated since the 1850's with a large part of the collection not on display due to limited space. The collection is broken into both time periods and type, depending on the speciality.

The diverse range of items on display will cater to almost every interest. This is an attraction that will appeal to just about every visitor to Zagreb and it is worthwhile allowing two hours at least to thoroughly enjoy all it has to offer.

This museum has a rich program during the year and an interesting permanent exhibition. It has a really good flow through era's and styles which gives you a good understanding of history.

Easily my favorite museum in Zagreb, which is actually a hard choice with the MBR and Naive Art Museums in town. It is three floors of great collections for only 30kn/person. The small gift shop also surprised me with the diversity of offerings.

You will have to check bags/large purses...but it is really a trusting thing...since there is no staff to take your bag/coat in the coat room and no where to lock it up otherwise.
