We were lucky as the hotel put us in a room which had been updated (Room 101),other rooms we saw were awful,as they nothing had changed post communist. Another room they tried to give us was updated but had no curtains! (Room 313) Breakfast was basic and to top this there was a power-cut on our last day,no generator backup just candles. even the emergency lighting gave up afetr a few hours.
To get to this hotel you needed to travel 22 stops on Tram 5 to Preco from the bus station then walk 15 minutes, trouble is there are major roadworks going on and you risk life and limb walking along the main road. Taxis are expensive compared to the 6.5 Kuna (approx 60p fare for 90 mins travel. You can also take another line and change to a bus but we hardly saw any. It would be better if you drove to this hotel and left your car as the traffic in Zagreb is fast and heavy.
Another Major factor is that this hotel is next to Customs Terminal for heavy goods lorries, we were woken early on Monday morning to find the whole road system gridlocked with HGV's.
On a positive note the hotel staff were friendly and gave good directions when asked, nearby (20 mins walk) is the Kings Cross Shopping Complex with Marks and Spencers, just like being in Milton Keynes Shopping Centre.
Overall an average hotel, but we would not stay there again.
