The cakes here are of a high standard but the reason Vincek is better than any other similar establishment in Zagreb (e.g. Oranž, Millennium) is that its ice-cream is second to none. There are the standard flavours, a few low fat ones, some interesting fruit options and then some off-the-chart crazy flavours that need to be tasted (e.g. Pumpkin-seed oil ice-cream). The kiwi ice-cream is so refreshing (if it is not on the main counter then you can find it at the smaller counter inside where the drinks are made) but the very best is the intense dark chocolate ice-cream. It does get crowded here but that is simply because it is an institution of sorts and so popular. People who like chestnuts in a variety of ways will like this place too. The only negative point I can say is that table-service by waiters is a bit slow and you tend to have to order and pay and carry your plates to your table yourself (so get somebody to go and sit at a table first or risk ending up without anywhere to sit). Once again, any flaws which the place may have in any other department are more than compensated for by the quality of the ice-cream.
