Description: Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 22 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu designed by celebrity chef Ana Grgic and seasonal promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm

“Service, value,and class!”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Had a dinner meal there and it was great value for money. The ambience of the place and quality of food was exceptional. Had a three course meal for 140 kuna(20 Euros). The place is class and service was excellent. Would recommend if whether it not staying at the Hotel Esplanade or when in Zagreb.

Reviewed June 23, 2014

If you don't wanna cook and just finished stressfull week, Le Bistro is your place! We went there on Saturday, for a early lunch. Few people who were well mannered made this place quiet and very enjoyable. Food was light and service great!

“Lovely to Sit in Agatha Christie-related hotel and dine”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We were there during a special week of food: 3 courses for 100 Kuna. The food was uniformly good and interesting. The wine was a bit pricey. Service initially was good, but then staff forgot to refill wine glasses. But it's a thumbs up for us. Christie set Murder on the Orient Express in the section from Zagreb to Istanbul.

“Fancy, but in a good way”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

I can't say much about the usual offer, cause I've visited during Zagreb Restaurant Week, so the menu was limited, and the prices were reduced, but I can say that both the service and the food were great. The place is fancy (and smallish, but actually very cosy) but the waiters were welcoming and warm, neither intrusive nor fake. The portions are just the right size and the combinations very clever, be it the main dish (fish with potato mille-feuille) or the dessert (choco-baileys mousse). Certainly want to revisit.

“This restaurant can do no wrong!”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

I fell in love with this place. I visited it twice!

From the minute I walked in, the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. They were also very patient with my order.

Upon fiddling with the menu, Monika came and offered me an iPad with all the menu offerings pictured on it--this made it even more difficult to choose something as they all looked WAY better than they sounded.

I also indulged in red wines from Croatia and this was superb as well.

The ambience is ideal for business, a casual meal or even a date and in my opinon the items on the menu are well priced.

EVERYTHING I ordered tasted impeccably well and I really wish there was a similar restaurant in London. But hey, means I have to go back :)

On my second visit, I didn't look at the menu for dessert but jsut said I felt like something chocolate-ey-. Monika said she'd order just the right thing. And my goodness was that dessert orgasmic!

Definitely worth your time, and your money, and it will reward you with a satisfied tummy.
