Description: Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 22 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu designed by celebrity chef Ana Grgic and seasonal promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm

We were staying in the Esplande Hotel & didn't feel up to their very posh restaurant but didn't want to walk all the way into town - so this relaxed little eatery alongside (which, as we discovered afterwards can be accessed directly from the hotel reception) suited us perfectly. Although they have tables outside, we thought the traffic noise might detract from our enjoyment so we ate in the pleasantly air-conditioned interior. We both chose from the "Q10" menu, partly because the dishes sounded really interesting & partly because it felt good to be told how healthy they were! The tuna steak with spinach, chick peas & tahini sauce was excellent, as was the melt in the mouth beef filet with rocket salad. We kind of spoiled the healthy bit by sharing a portion of home fries, a bottle of very nice Croatian white wine (which in our experience was a fairly rare commodity) & a desert. The serve was excellent, but we felt that the bill (worked out to £62.28) was a bit steep

Wandered in while waiting for a taxi and didn't NEED lunch, but, we certainly enjoyed it.

Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Menu choice was very good and the food likewise.

Very pleasantly surprised - and the price was not a problem at all. Excellent

The food was good, not excellent - but very good. The ambient is pleasant, the tables are small and round (not cubical), but close to each oder - you can look at neighbors plate...

Visited Le Bistro few days ago for business lunch and had 3 course meal. We were surprised by the fact the restaurant was promoting eating out in "Week of restaurants" promotion and offering 3 courses for the price of 100 kuna ( roughly €13, $17 ). Entree was wonderful mushroom and truffel risoto was very tasty. Main course was perfectly prepared salmon filet and not so good interpretation of ratatouille, but lemongrass sauce nicely complemented the fish. Pudding was rich fruit vanilla custard cake. They served nice bagles with the meal. Service was perfect for me, plaesent, discrete, not intruding in any way, and at the same time proffesional and with perfect timing and sense of what you need. Overall very nice lunch for a bargain price.

This is truly nice place. So nice settled interior with warm but very profesional stuff who knows they job. Food is exstremly delicious for optimal money, they allways have tasty vines and deserts. They also offers daily menues which includes: appetizer, main, desert, coffy(or tea), and a glass of vine for very very reasonable price. Try this place, u'll not regret!
