Went to Apetit after it received the title of the best restaurant in Croatia. Food was very good, let's say it has even lived up to the expectations. However, service was confused, things were constantly missing on the table and while the staff was very friendly and always with the smile I expect impecable service standrads in the "best restaurant in Croatia". Will go again though.

The soups are great. Try the soups that are of what is in season. The Tuscan tomato soup is good anytime.
The pasta is so so but the sea bass is great.
The cod is also so so but the monkish is great.
The soft choco is mouth watering.

Restaurants in Croatia don't differ much in
their offerings. This is one of the exceptions.
The menu is more original than typical, the food
and the ambiance is very good. One of my favorites
in Zagreb,

This review is negligent on my part, but I want to make sure others know of this establishment. We ate at both locations last May (once at the new intown at Masarykova 18) and had the usual wonderful meal and great service we've had in the past. It was the entire family including a 20 month old. We intentionally didn't go at the busiest time, but still the courtesy and care shown was just great. And did I mention that every time we've eaten at Apetit, which is four, the food has been fabulous? I think it is a superb choice for a quality meal.

There are two restaurants owned by the same couple: Apetit in the residential part of ZG (Jurjevska St) and Apetit City in the centre of ZG.
Apetit is really top class in terms of food, service, creativity, atmosphere. But the second one (Apetit City)...ughhhh.... We went there during the Restaurants' Week.... well, the whole impression was miserable... waiter was nice, but confused... food service seemed to be delayed all the time (and served in strange order - men first), some wines from the wine list were missing, etc... and then all the time there is a feeling "be happy for whatever you get because you pay less and we don't appreciate you" despite the fact that they served less food than usual and that you pay full price for the drinks (And even if it wasn't so, come on - if you want to attract new guests - behave and accept the Restaurants' Week discount as an investment in your promotion!). Last but not least, there is a young lady that acts as a manager and a somelier I guess... and she is sort of a "too posh to be nice" person (although she is not posh at all, just one of those wannabes, and not professionals, that shouldn't be working in services).
The owners are very committed to the quality of the restaurants in all the aspects (I think they come from Western Europe)... but in order to feel that properly - book your place at Apetit, not Apetit City! Bon apetit in that case :-)
PS. And if you want to go to some haute cuisine place in the centre of Zagreb - check Bistro Karlo - great food + great atmosphere + enthusiastic service!
