My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Camera Felice.

Pros:
-Room- We stayed in the green room (with the balcony) that we highly recommend. The room is modern, spacious and cheerful, with bright colour accents throughout. It was well maintained, with a fridge and kettle in the room. The bathroom was meticulously clean. We loved sitting on the balcony to watch the passersby and enjoy the view.
-Beds - The linens and mattresses were extremely comfortable.
-Lack of street noise - It was remarkable how quiet the room was given the location in close proximity to the street. I noticed that past reviewers had issues with noise before, but the double pane windows and black out curtains seemed to do the trick for us.

Cons:
-Price - Considering what we paid for accommodation (mostly apartments with full kitchens) elsewhere in Croatia, the room was quite pricey at 60E. We had a studio apartment in the Old Town of Dubrovnik with a full kitchen for only 50E. Perhaps this is the rate in Zagreb.
-Location - Contrary to the estimated 10 min walk described by the owner, it really takes 20-25min of walking at a brisk pace. However, as mentioned by other reviewers, the tram is convenient to take into town and the stop is about 5 min away.

All in all, it was a very comfortable stay and I do recommmend Camera Felice. If I were to stay again, I might consider a place closer in location to the old town, but the choices are somewhat limited in Zagreb.

Camera Felice (Happy Room) is a delight. There are two rooms within the owner’s apartment, so there is a shared entrance hallway, but each room has its own key and its own bathroom. We rented both rooms. The green room has a balcony. The rooms are colorful, well-lit, spacious and decorated in the owner’s personal style. There’s an armoire and a coat rack, so plenty of room to hang clothes. Each room has a refrigerator, plus cups and glasses. The bathrooms are modern, and the shower is extra-wide. A couple of mini-markets are a block away.
Marijeta is kind and welcoming. She added special touches, such as providing fresh flowers and fresh fruit.
The location is convenient. If you arrive from either the bus station or the train station, hop on tram #2 or #6 in the direction of Črnomerec, and get off at Trg Franje Tudmana (formerly Trg Francuske Republike). Getting to the old town is easy. The main square, Trg Bana Jelačića, is about a 15-minute walk along Ilica street, or hop on tram #6 (which runs along Ilica).
There are heavy curtains for blocking out the street lights. There is street noise from the trams, but it is a whooshing sound. The trams are modern and move smoothly, so there’s no clanking.
You need to let the owner know when you will be arriving, but once you are checked in and have your keys, you can come and go as you wish. Make sure to mark the location on a map ahead of time, and have the telephone numbers with you. Camera Felice is located at Trg Vladka Mačeka 2, which is a very small square sticking off of Trg Franje Tudmana. Because it’s part of a private apartment, you need to look for the address (it’s right next to Café de Paris) and look for the name on the call box. Marijeta was expecting us, so she waved to us as we were crossing the square.
If you want a standard hotel with reception, breakfast, and restaurant, then look elsewhere. But if you want to experience a little bit of Zagreb, then Camera Felice is an excellent choice.

Room Tip: The green room has a balcony and is perhaps a bit larger. But both rooms were very nice. they both...

First time in Zagreb, had some trouble finding the hotel. If you arrive from the railway station, take tram #2, it stop you near the hotel. The hotel is more of a home of a lovely charming lady who occupies part of the house and lets out the other two rooms. It is hard not to be swept away by her kindness, she even kindly washed our jeans for us - for free!! She offered brochures and information about Zagreb and made us feel extremely welcomed. She also helped check bus timings for us to assist with our day trips outside Zagreb.

Room is spacious, bright, decorated with paintings from around the world. Free tea and water available at all times.

Sorry for the late review! My wife and I took an overnight train from Venice that arrived in Zagreb at 4 AM. Rocco was incredibly accomodating, nice and speaks flawless English. We arranged in advance to check in early in the morning and were able to rest before going out and exploring the city. Common entry hallway, but room is private inside owners' home. Very clean and bathroom is large and modern. Even had a modern HD television and fast WiFi in the room. View from the room is nice and do not be concerned that it looks far from the city center on the map. Zagreb is a very walkable city (room is about 15 minutes from train station) and there are trams very close by that are cheap and frequent that will get you to the main square in just a few minutes. I would highly recommend staying here.

First of all here is not a hotel. Here is a house; 1 room for owner, 2 double rooms for visitors.

We stayed 2 nights and we enjoyed it. Please not that; no reception and no breakfast.

Rooms and toilets are big and clean. 1 room with balcony 1 room not.

Owner is very polite and helpful. Free water, tea and coffee available. Also free wifi internet.

If you want to lobby, reception, room service and restaurant here is not for you!

If you want home in Zagreb here is for you!

If you have a car, you can park front of the apartment.

City center 10 minutes by walk. If you want tram station is very close

Only I don't like: sheets and towel are clean but old. I think time to change :)

We highly recommend Camera Felice and we will return again :)

My wife and I stayed in Zagreb for the first night of our 18 day trip through Croatia. Our flight was delayed a few hours and we weren’t planning to stay in Zagreb long the following day, so it was perfect for a short stay. It was basically a 3 bedroom apartment, where the owner (we assumed he was the owner) is renting out 2 of the rooms, but the rooms have their own full bathroom, which seemed to be fairly updated/modern. The room itself was no frills, but did have a flat screen tv, fridge and was clean. True to what other TA posters have said, there was parking right in front of the entrance (several spaces) and we could park there for free overnight (we didn’t get to the location until about 11pm) until 7 am on most days, but the next day for us happened to be a Sunday and parking was free all day. The owner was very nice, not bothered by our late arrival and happily directed us to the Old Town where we went out and enjoyed the cool evening with a couple drinks at one of Zagreb’s outdoor cafes. The walk from Camera Felice to Old Town was about 15 – 20 min, but you could also catch one of the town trams during the day that takes you right to Jelačić Square. Overall, we had no issues and would stay again.

We spent 4 nights in Zagreb at Camera Felice and were very pleased with the excellent value, the spotlessly clean room, the big bathroom and excellent shower, the extra-colourful art work,
and most of all, by Rocco's friendly welcome and help while we were there.

The rooms do face a busy street so the traffic during the day can be noisy but we found it quietened down considerably at night and was not a problem for sleeping. Apparently darker curtains are on the way which could help both with the traffic and the light problems other people have mentioned....we didn't find either a big problem.

We arrived by plane from Amsterdam and followed the excellent directions - airport bus to the bus station and tram to within a half block of Camera Felice.

It is like staying in someone's home. Rocco helped us considerably by doing our laundry - & gave me an iron and ironing board to use! Laundramats are few and far between in Croatia. He also helped with a medical problem my husband was having by taking him to see a doctor (Rocco's aunt) and helping with translation and medicines. It was a big help and very appreciated.
