Description: "Restaurant AGAVA" - a place where fine dining truly meets a casual atmosfere. This is very special place, a bit hidden, a bit shy...A classic Italian restaurant filled with subtle dark colours and distinctive lightning. Wide windows provide an unique view, and in spring and summer the green terrace will attract you immediately. The restaurant was opened in 2005. It is runned by Belizar Milos (owner/partner) who is also the main chef, responsible for many mediterranean delices and beyond. So, come to the number 39 of Tklaciceva street... It'll take you 39 staircases to come to your little hiding place.

The restaurant Agava is situated in the hearth of the old city centre of Zagreb, offering good food and first class service for a reasonable price.

“Best meal we had in Croatia!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

The panna cotta was soooo good! It was light, yet creamy and had raspberries in it!

The service was excellent but the portions are small so order a side dish if you're hungry.

Go early or reserve because the tables fill up quickly!

“Lovely Meal, Made Perfect By Location”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This delightful restaurant is in the older, "Upper Town" part of Zagreb, with tables set out on a number of small terraces at different levels overlooking the buzzing pedestrainised street below - a truly delightful location. From reading other reviews it appears we were lucky to get a table without having booked. The food was very good (duck with honey sauce & scampi risotto) & the bottle of sparkling Croatian wine one of the best we had all holiday. The waiter was a little over the top & theatrical, but that just added to the entertainment of the evening - along with the music from buskers below us. All in all, a very pleasant evening

“Great food, great service, great location”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel manger and it more than lived up to expectations. I had the duck with orange and honey and my wife had the rump steak with truffles and dauphinois potatoes and they were both amazing meals. The service was 10 out of 10 and we set on a lovely terrace on probably the nicest street in Zagreb.

“We like this place! A lot!!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

Our landlady recommended the Agava and warned us we'd need to book a few hours beforehand. We booked during the afternoon for 8pm (and as other reviewers have noted, we were told our table would be released if we we not there by 8.20!) and when we arrived were shown up to an intermediate terrace all of our own - a table for six set up for the three of us. The food was excellent; the wine was really good (and the waiter did the full sommelier bit with sniffing the cork and tasting a tiny amount himself before explaining the wine's provenance and vinification), and the location was absolutely perfect. A jazz quartet nearby improved the ambience even more. Highly recommended experience all round!
