Description: The restaurant is in the center of Sofia consisted of four restored houses from 1866 year representing architecture and style from beautiful Bulgarian towns Koprivshtitsa, Zheravna, Melnik and Bansko, combined with a joint yard and a beautiful Summer garden. We offer extensive menu with traditional Bulgarian recipes and Bulgarian wines. In the evenings from Tuesday till Saturday there is live folklore music. “Hadjidraganovite kashti” the way Bulgarian people pronounce it (means Hadzhi Dragan’s Houses) is like a time machine that will take you to the old days of 1866 year and you will get the chance to learn about the customs and culture of the country and to experience a culinary journey with Bulgarian specialties. The legend says that Hadji Dragan - a trader of wool and silk - lived a hundred years ago. He traveled around the country for a lot of years and went round a lot of districts. He was greatly impressed at the beauty of the Bulgarian houses ... (see legend at the web site)

The feel of the restaurant is very pleasant. The decoration is amazing which makes you feel very cosy.
The service is a little slow, the food is OK. We've visited several local restaurants over the past few years so I think I am safe to compare.
Usually bread is delicious in Bulgaria, but this restaurant's wasn't very special.
Overall, worth trying for the atmosphere, but the food was missing a twist.

What an amazing place! My friend and I found this restaurant very close to our Airbnb, and were blown away by the ambiance, food, and prices. There are a great variety of foods on the menu. We were lucky enough to catch some live music as well, which was lots of fun!

Food is great and ambience is nice. Given the food is not really cheap for the city it would make a huge difference if the staff at least smiled and said thank you, good bye etc.

We had dinner here on our last night as we really wanted more traditional cuisine. The restaurant is away from the downtown area but easily reachable. The interior is decorated in a traditional setting. The service was very good and the food was excellent! Of course, don’t skip the salads but definitely order some grilled items which were delicious! Order a glass of local red or beer.
