“Beautiful inside and out.”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Gold domes, beautiful marble floors, and art inside. A must see. Try to visit near sunset (or sunrise) when the light is gorgeous reflected off of the golden domes.

“Amazing cathedral”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

An awesome cathedral, located in the heart of Sofia, the inside you can not shoot, impresses with its good conservation.

In the surrounding area you will find several street markets that are every day until sunset

It is obligatory visit

“Must see to understand Bulgarian legacy”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

This is the legacy and proud of modern Bulgarian after the liberation from Ottoman Turkey after 500 years of suppression. The architecture is superb like Russian Orthodox church and it remains there as national pride. Unfortunately inside the church was not clear to see its decoration and arts due to the dust and smoke from candles. However, it is a place that must be seen one visits Sofia.

“The "must" of Sofia”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

Take your time when visiting this place, let your eyes have a chance to adapt to the darkness and you will discover a beautiful place. Do not miss the icone museum in the basement.

I don't usually go to churches but I recommend this one as it is huge and really old, and have some nice paintings.
