It is absolutely a must-visit! Make sure you plan ahead because it is not always open to the public.

“Excellent Area”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

The history and culture inside of this Cathedral is difficult to describe. Simply amazing!
The whole area around the Nevski Church is also amazing. In the daytime you will find local artists, swap meet style relics, statuary & all for free.
The Victoria restaurant is close by and one of my favorites in Sofia.

“Typical east orthodox church!!”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Glad have the opportunity see Alexander Nevski Church... Indeed we walked spontaneously just to relax ourselves on the streets of Sofia and suddenly on the walk passing to the traffic light I sew the church. Definitely decided to be there and the stand of the building it's impressive in wide square with the same name of the church. Interesting learning that the church is built in honor of soldiers die on the Russo - Turkish war at years 70-80 century 19. Are rumors about the golden ruff church. Also impressive the numerous bells of the cathedral.
Couldn't visit inside because a ceremony organized in that moment and many Bulgarian political joint there. I have visited several time Sofia. Only at this time I confess that this church is one of the most interesting places to visit... Typical orthodox style and well kept... Again some one is Sofia who cheat us... A taxi driver!!

“Really impressive”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Unspoilt art inside. When going to other churches around Europe, there is a tendency for art to be "repainted" and "touched up". Though they might be clearer, the faded unspoilt art inside this church had far more character.
