Nice couple running the place. Mr.Raj cooks and he has that Indian hand while cooking a tadka and samosa's are very delicious. He will cook fresh for so worth the wait. You specify and he cooks exactly.
Over very filling and authentic with good service.

Fantasitic food for a very reasonable price. We had mango lassi, samosa and Chiken Korma. Ate everything before we realised we should have taken pictures.
One can find the menu online.
The restaurant itself seemed to be small. Apparently for summer season they put tables outside. The interior is rather average but the hospitality in this place totally makes up for it.

Keep up the good work, Mrs Kumar!

Raju"S cooking and Kapka"s hospitality and entertaninment make this a MUST in Sofia, for Indian food and a great place to watch Bolloywood style entertainment .The food is not good it is excellent and the rustic atmosphere grows on you.Charming place to enjoy a bottle of wine in the garden.

When the owner Kapka greeted me in Hindi as I walked in, I thought she was Indian. Her Hindi is flawless.I was going to "enlighten" her on the meaning of her name in Bulgarian when I discovered that she is actually a Bulgarka. She has a passion for dance and runs a Bollywood dance school for the Indian (and other interested) kids in the community. I met her daughters, the eldest of whom also speaks Hindi! I felt like I was dreaming all this.
Kapka and the family make guests feel welcomed as they actually sit down and talk with them.
Her husband who is an Indian (Kumar) is the chef and the food was quite authentic in the Punjabi style. The prices are very very reasonable (compared to the over-priced Taj Mahal and Kohinoor). If going for dinner, skip lunch so that you can do justice to the portions that are quite adequate.

Rangeela is the latest addition to the sparse listing of Indian restaurants in Sofia, and probably the only decent one. Taj Mahal is definitely avoidable. The USP for Rangeela is Kaphka Kumar, the ebullient owner / hostess and wife of the chef. She speaks chaste Hindi, can take you on a cultural tour of India, give you tips on Indian dressing, and most importantly teach you a few steps of Indian dancing. She is a choreographer well versed in the art of various Indian dances. She will welcome you with a warm Namaste, her daughters will take your order and serve you, and her cute little grand daughter will entertain you! What more do you want?

Indian food of course, because that is what you come here for in the first place! Well, the hospitality is warm, the food is hot and spicy, but it is still the generic restaurant quality. But, if you cozy up to Kaphka or Raju her husband, they will make something special to suit your needs and taste. So, if you really want to have a taste of India in all senses while in Sofia, your best bet is to head to Rangeela! Their prices are far more reasonable than the other Indian restaurants for a low cost city like Sofia, but they do not accept credit cards as yet.
