Excellent food on good price. Excellent service.
Comfortable area.
Nice wine selection.
If you are in Sofia is got to taste it even this long distance from the down town. Diner 20-40 eur/ea person with wine.

I have eaten at Sage over 10 times. Each meal has been wonderful. The menu choices have something for everyone and the staff is willing to make special orders. It surely must be one of best, if not the best restaurant in Sofia.

Set in the mountain, this restaurant is well worth going the distance for. And you also get a great view of the city on your way up (and down)! The food was brilliant, they had a prawn starter as a special which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Absolutely no complaints about the service, prices, the only shame was that they didn't serve wine by the bottle!

I go there from time to time and each visit i remind myself that i should go more often... Always fresh food of highest quality, complimented by a glass of high class wines. Wine is also sold on the spot, so you can fill your collection of French and Italian wines on your way out.
Mid-to-high on the price tag, Sage worths every penny spent - a great location for an informal occasion to celebrate with close ones and your pallet :)
High standards of service come with the delicious food. Do try day specialties, not listed in the regular menu - they are always seasonally adequate and main interest for regulars.
A bit of a downside is the reach ability of the place - you do need a car or have to rely on taxis. My reco goes for the taxi option - not only parking is not great but you can also enjoy a glass of wine if you don't have to drive back.

Although the restaurant is not exactly in the City but in close distance in nearby village Bistritza, it's honest to say that this place deserve the prize to be one of the top 5 Sofia restaurants. Very good interior, not stunning but intimate and made with taste. The list is not big - something good if you tend to lose yourself in the menu. The choices are well balanced and there are always daily dishes and recommendations from the chef who kindly will advise. The food served is mainly European with Mediterranean influences. The main star of this restaurant is very talented chef who after many years working abroad and in few of the best Bulgarian places decided to open own bistro and have freedom to improvise. The fresh fish from Greece, homemade olive oil, seasonings and vegetables from organic farms are also few point who speak enough for the food quality of this place. The prices are fair enough and affordable for most people.
