Situated in the center of Sofia restaurant exposes unique atmosphere of an old cellar - all hand-maded. A band of one of the best Bulgarian folklore musicians is playing folklore music in the nights! Legend of Hadjidraganov's Cellars! "In 1866 a century ago Hadji Dragan, a trader of wool and silk lived in Sofia and four great houses built. Each with a style from different region of Bulgaria (Melnik, Koprivshtitza, Zheravna, Bansko). Now it's a famous restaurant "Hadjidraganov's Houses". In his famous cellars there was wine from vineyards all over the country. Only few were people entered into the Hadjidraganov's Cellars. While entering inside, silence, a smell of old barrels and a coolness met the special guests. Barrels ordered in long lines could be seen in twilight of kerosene lamps. Selected bottles lay in straw in wine racks." Now the Restaurant Hadjidraganov's Cellars welcomes you with it's traditional bulgarian food cooked on fire, hot plate and in an oven. You can choose a wine from different regions all over Bulgaria.

“Dinner in Sofia”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

The place is located in the center of Sofia. The athmosphere and the food is very tipical and is not just for tourist, since many local people was having dinner there. The menu has a lot of choises of traditional food, I ordered a soup and a lamb grilled, it was all very good and tasty, the wine was average and the service not so bad. There was also a nice trio playing traditional music and was not so much intrusive. Only one concern was that the kitchen closed pretty early around 10pm despite was friday evening. The price is very good and very convenient related to euro.

“Nice atmosphere, nice meal. I recommend it to people who like to eat in taverns”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Excellent food, house wine is good, great decoration inside, reasonable prices. I expected more people on Sunday evening, or some live etno music. Spend one evening here, and you will have nice time. Especially, restaurant atmosphere can be interesting for people who live in non-Balkan countries. One tip for people who like bread, order it! (in Serbia, where I live, it is normal to get some kind of baked goods with meal, and you order only if you want more)

“Very good pork”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

I ate here on my 2nd night alone, I had the porcini soup which is served in a giant roll! and the pork that is about a foot long and draped over garlic potatoes. Both were excellent and the service was very good. Its in an old cellar and the atmosphere and decor is very nice. It had live Bulgarian music too which was nice although I was on my own so is always a little strange when they play to you.... Beer was ok, oonly tried the 600ml local stuff, not the best but went well with the Pork
