Beautiful hotel, very clean. The rooms are huge. Big heated pool and nice SPA facilities, friendly staff. Located in a very noce position, just 10 minutes from Sofia cente, which can be easly reached by bus (also taxi is cheap). Great value for money. Hotel bus avaliable from/to the airport, on request.

Dear Partizia,

I would like to express our gratitude to your really nice comment on Tripadvisor.

We are really happy to hear that you are satisfied with our services and you had a nice experience with us.
Thank you for your disctiption over our location (though it is not in the city center), services in the SPA center and available transporation.

I hope we will be welcoming you in Hotel Berlin during your next trip to Sofia.

When I stayed there for 3 nights. It was only opened a few months and understand it is in a process of learning. I had a super 3 room suite with 2 bathrooms and a separate room with a spa for a great price however the internet didn't work, there was no television in the bedroom and the view from my windows were the direct side of a mountain through a barb wire fence.
Dinner at the restaurant was fine, with local dishes, drinks and friendly service. The staff was trying too hard and too fast to be too good. I will not complain other to say that there was always 6 eyes constantly behind my back, watching me eat, in an empty restaurant. I did not eat the Breakfast. The buffet equipment was off, the meats and cheeses were sweating, little selection and an entire new set of 6 eyes were following me around.
The Bar and Pool were interesting and are right next to each other, separated by clear glass so you get a view. Even with 10 drinks, the swimmers there were never becoming the cast of Baywatch and I did not return the favour. The bar was also next to the automatic, slidng, front doors, it was late October and you were always cold watching overweight people floating next to you in the water.
The location is in a Bulgarian standard middle class neighbourhood, in the middle of no where, 24 hours guards and high barb wire fences, 1/2 hour from downtown and 1 hour from the airport. It's not that far but there is no major roads, the traffic does not move and you to have to drive through ghettos.
This hotel, using the finest materials, took a lot of money to build and is just a wonder who designed it and put it there. If it wasn't for the location, I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a television in the bedroom.and forget your bathing suit

Dear Mr. Finnley,

Thank you for your detailed review highlighting the advantages of our property and noticing some points that need improvement.

As for many our location seems to be strange I would like to explain why the hotel position is this. Boyana is to be considered one of the prestigious neighborhoods in Sofia city. The location is quiet and you can easily recover form hard day working. Here we have no traffic noise and no noise from people. Here you can only ‘hear the nature’. Not far from the hotel you can visit Boyana church, which is part of UNESCO world heritage, and The National Historic museum. You can reach the city center within 15 min (when there is no traffic jam) to half an hour, as you wrote.

Our hotel policy emphasizes on 2 major points – the quality of our services and the security of you our guests. Because of the last one we have the security guards and the fence around the hotel. We are trying to protect our guest so they can fell safe and the most enjoy their stay with us.

We closely checked your recommendations and took action over them. We have already improved the internet connection, the TV-s in all rooms and we are working hard on improving service at the restaurant and the quality of our breakfast.

I hope that you will reconsider your decision and you will visit us again.

Kind Regards,
Kristiana Ilieva

I have spend 5 days in this hotel. I had boked room, but I got a room, which was already occupied. After my reclamation I was given a large and clean room (first day I got an apartment with 3 rooms, 2 baths, kitchen and others accesories with cca 100 m2, next days classical room). Everything was clean and cosy. Breakfast was satisfying, but sometimes not warm. Swimming pool is large and very nice, spa is excelent. I can recommend this hotel for a bussines accommodation (wifi is ok), but you must be prepared for often wedding celebrations and some problems with communication. The road to hotel is unfinished and you can have a problem to find the hotel.

Dear Andrej,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us on TripAdvisor.
I am grad to read that you enjoyed your room and the services in the SPA Center.
As the wedding season is between May and September, we have many wedding during this period. When we have a wedding in the restaurant our VIP salon and Lobby bar are opened for dinner and you can enjoy the restaurant menu there.
The road to the hotel in now fixed and we have poured asphalt over it.

I hope that you will be our guest again and you will check the improvements.

Arrived at the airport and could not get a taxi to take me to the hotel as they are new and not too many people have heard of the place. If you go make sure you tell them Boyana, name of a local church and they will find the area better yet bring the address so you know you will get there, some of the english is not so great with the driver's. On arrival at the hotel was greeted by the entire kitchen staff and catering depatment inthe middle of a meeting in the front lobby, no one stopped to say hello or help with bags. Was promptly checked in to a room that was gorgeous and had no issues with it, although later found out the hotel was basically empty and there was no upgrade given, disappointed by that. The Bellman Rado was great he carried my things showed me to my room and even went downstairs to get a map to show me the sights and stayed to explain after his shift was completed. In the morning breakfast was to be a buffet, however since there was only a few of us in the hotel we had an a la carte selection. Service was slow and the guy was not too friendly. There was however a buffet the following day, not very good, if you went late the food that was out had sat there a long while and well it was old looking. Luba the waitress was a cherry one and had a great disposition on her job and hospitality. Stefan and Anna at the bar were friendly and kind and the recreation or lifeguard attendent Georgi needs to be recognized he did alot of work in the front office as well. Yordan and Zizi had a great front desk position and very friendly in helping me charge my phone countless number of times.
The hotel is large and serves some purposes well. The fact you could smoke everywhere was a turn off for me personally especially in the dining areas. The one night they had a wedding in the front lobby and in the restraunt closing it off to other guests which I thought was rude, especially with out warning or giving alternatives.
The Spa was gorgeous however the skinny l ady who was in charge was quite stuck up, would not recommend you have any treatments....not by her anyways
The hotel is out of the way and in the mountain but in the midst of construction so you hear the workers all day long and the view is either of the city or the back of a mountain not too picturesque. You cannot beat the cleanliness or size of the rooms. I would stay away ifyou are doing alot of sight seeing its about 15 Bulgarian Leva from the Airport or the hotel will transfer you for 12 Euro one way.
All in all I would go again but would hope for some improvements..the staff is underpaid and not too motivated because of lack of customers..hopefully this hotel will be noticed and the staff will become busy and be able to show case what they have in store...ps they also had a night club but it was closed due to no staff and lack of clients...an A for effort...give it a try!
