“Average place”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Nice place, mostly for young people, it is in down town. The menu is rich and the quality of food is average.
Sushi in not so good, while salads are really good.
It's good at lunch for quick lunches.

“Good quality at reasonable price.”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

I realise the title is a 100% cliché, but it's about right when talking about 'Happy'.

Prices are not exactly normal (somewhat high for the living standard in Bulgaria) but it is also true that it is somewhat hard to find better service. The food is good, some dishes are not exactly satisfying in terms of their size, but are nevertheless delicious. Various cuisines are represented: from traditional Bulgarian dishes (although not really cooked in the most traditional way), going through Mediterranean dishes (good ones!), reaching the far east (sushi).

One has to admit that 'Happy' have some of the best sushi in Sofia (at least for my average sushi standard - I have not been to many sushi-only restaurants). Their sushi is not quite orthodox and that's what I like about it - it suits my twisted European-like taste for "richer" in flavour sushi. Try the 'dragon' or 'rainbow' to see what I am talking about. They even have sushi-like deserts.

They also have decent choice of good beer on tap. You must try the dark Staropramen (usually available during the winter months). The atmosphere is good in most of their restaurants and the waitresses are always good-looking, smiling and very polite.

The only bad thing I can think of is that dishes are sometimes served with noticeable delay in rush hours (around noon and early evening).

It is a very friendly place for families with children. They are one of the very few natively Bulgarian restaurants to consider the children - they always provide pictures for colouring, connect-the-dots kind of puzzles and colour pencils for little kids, and of course they always have baby-feeding chairs.
