I've stayed in 4 hotels in Sofia and Thracia serves the best breakfast. The hotel's located right in the middle of Sofia a short walk from pedestrianised central part. The hotel's fairly new, the decor's nothing to write home about but the bathrooms are nice and the hotel feels very clean. They even use a different room parfume that smeels like freshly ironed cotton sheets. According to the staff in the hotel they're buillding a gym and spa and eventually room sevice will be available within a few month. On the positive note they offer free entrance to a gym a few blocks away when you flash your hotel key card.
Beside the cleanliness, the delicious breakfast the friendly and attentive staff elevates this hotel above the others.

After having stayed at supposedly 5* hotels at Nepal and 3* hotels at Bhutan, this 4* hotel is just a pleasant change - at least it IS a 4* hotel, living up to the 4* standards unlike the previous hotels I stayed at Nepal and Bhutan.

The room and bathroom are really spacious and clean.

The windows are well insulated, both thermal and acoustically. I believe it's double glazing although i didn't check.

The only problem is the thermostat. I eventually find that the room was very warm, although one would appreciate it considering it was 2degC outside but over the night, it just got a bit too warm. I turned on the air conditioning and set the temperature to 15degC but it still felt like 27degC in the room.

As it was raining heavily in Sofia one day, i was all soaked and went back to the hotel to dry out my jeans on the towel rack heater in the bathroom but it was not working. The receptionist was prompt to have that sorted but apparently, they needed to turn on something to make it work.

The only disappointment is the breakfast as the food is ALWAYS cold. Bread, cakes and pastries are left out for days, hence they are not fresh and mainly dried up. However, I've had worst hotel breakfast before, so, I shouldn't complain much. The breakfast is not always ready or open on time (7am) as I have daily tours to catch, which meant that I needed to have my breakfast at 7am but unfortunately, almost everyday, the staff and food are not quite ready on time.

There was also a sign for Spa which excited me a tad, but later found out that it's just a sign!

It's also located next to a nice restaurant which is very convenient.

I stayed at this hotel for 45 euros a night which was an extremely great value (which may have been a special summer rate since the hotel was geared for business travellers). The hotel was brand new, and had very luxurious furnishings. The beds were extremely comfortable and the staff spoke excellent english and were extremely helpful, and helped me book accomodation and travel for the other leg of my trip. The breakfast was excellent with fresh squeezed juice, and plenty of in season vegetables. Located in a nice upscale neighborhood a few minutes walk to all the interesting sites in the city center. One tip, ask for a room not facing the restaurant next door, as it can be a bit noisy at night (noise ends at about 23:00 though so it did not effect my sleep).

This place is too good to be true. It is brand new. Just a month or two old. They gave me a discount rate when I came in. 50 lev. If you just came here for breakfast it would be worth it. Four kinds of cheese, meats hot and cold, cereals, fruits, eggs, sweets, juices, linen table cloth and napkins, music, service. Superior. The room was spacious with all the extras. Service was great. Location right off Vitosha. You can't possibly find a better place to stay.

It is a newly build hotel. My partner booked it for me. What I liked the most is that the rooms are very comfortable and stylish. There is Wi Fi internet everywhere in the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful . Definitely I will come back.
