I stayed here for one night and I must say it's not great. A couple of good points are that it is very cheap and very central but there are better hotels close by for a few euro more. We had booked a triple room and one of the beds was a campbed. There was also a hole in the floor which was just covered over by the carpet. The breakfast was awfull, two slices of fried bread and bad coffee. I would not recomend this hotel

The place looks a bit dated but my room was clean, the bathroom wad recently renovated and spotless. It is located very centrally, near Vitosha boulevard. The inly disappointement was that the Wifi did not seem to work. Apart from that, it is difficult to beat these prices!

We moved here from a hostel, where we had a cell facing a blank wall with no fan or air-conditioner. For just 50% more we were given a two-room suite with a bathroom, two televisions, a fridge, lots of wardrobe space and storage areas and a table where I could put my laptop in front of a couch. Okay, the carpet was stained, the water didn’t go down well in the bathroom, the drains were a bit smelly on the first day and one of the hooks fell off the wall, but otherwise it was quite luxurious.

One other minor annoyance was that the small corridor connecting the two bedrooms and the bathroom had automatic lights that were sensitive to any movement, so they tended to keep going on and off. On the other hand, the lights in the main corridor outside were not sensitive enough and sometimes left us in the dark, and as it was a windowless corridor it was pitch dark when the lights didn’t come on.

Though the WiFi worked well at first it stopped working on the second night. We took it down to the lobby to try it out on the last morning but still could not connect to the hotel's network, and had to piggyback on another one that came up.

The breakfast, included in the price, was about the worst we’ve had in Bulgaria. No choice was offered. Just some slices of French toast (i.e. fried with egg) some white cheese, and a serve of jam. Coffee was a bit cold, but we could ask for some hot water to make it hotter.

The thing that made this hotel a luxury for us was that we were offered a suite for the price of a room. (We were actually given a choice, but would be crazy not to choose the suite.) Otherwise, it would have been quite an ordinary hotel experience, but still far better than the hostel we escaped from.

Room Tip: Ask to see more than one room and you may be offered a suite.

We arrived late after a visit to the Rila Monastery and were given the name of this place by a taxi driver when we got lost driving around. It was the last room available and in a nice central location. The room was not clean and sheets were left on our beds so that we had to make our own beds. When our cousin showered at night the bathroom would not drain properly (It is one of those showers within the bathroom and not a separate shower with a place to hold the water in) the lady at the front desk told us the housekeeper usually just places a tablet in the drain to unplug it but she didn't have any. When I asked her for a plunger or what we should do she just said,"Sorry I cannot help you right now." So anytime we needed to use the toilet there was about an inch of water standing in the bathroom. Only one of us actually got to use the shower because we were afraid water would overflow in the rest of our room. Really we would all prefer to call this a 1 star at best simply based on location and price alone. The one positive was at least the front desk lady spoke good English and was honest. Not a good experience at all. And as I type this I can now smell cigarettes coming from the gentleman in the room beside us. This will be a one night stay.

Central location just in a short walking distance from Vitosha Boulevard, number 2 (Sofia Court House). Booked a single room (it was really a double room for single use). Private toilet, tv, fridge and wifi included in price. Room was clean, tidy and cleaned everyday. Beds seemed to be new and very comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful. I found a really cheap price through internet, so I was very happy with my stay at this place.

Breakfast here is not worth a dime but the rooms are very clean and have all of the expected amenities. The reception were very helpful and moved us when we complained about the noisy person next door on Skype most of the night. Trams are also quite noisy if you have a room facing the road.

Nearby are most of the attractions and shopping is also 3 minutes walk away. Restaurants are also plentiful in the mall and around the attractions to make up for the appalling breakfast.
