Hotelina Apartment is located on Elin Vruh St. 16, Lozenets, and could not be more conveniently located if one tried. A two-minute walk to the outstanding and newly-commissioned Metro system, which links this suburban area with the downtown commercial and administrative precincts, solves most of ones transport requirements at a very nominal cost and is simplicity to operate. The fact that this impressive and attractive facility is also sterile-clean and maintained 24/7, employs English as well as Bulgarian on all info signs and ingress/exits in close proximity to all public areas, helped make our stay at Hotelina so memorable.
Nikolay, the owner, affable and very helpful, even to the extent of organizing a taxi for us when we were due to leave for our flight, has personally converted what must have originally been a plebeian fourth-storey flat into a relative work of art, with murals, decorative features and originally-conceptual furnishings dominating the living areas. The bedroom is very generously proportioned with ample closet space, large salon area adjoining a fully-equipped modern kitchenette, and toilet\shower facilities of the same high standard - literally a home-from-home, perfect for a couple of nights or an extended stay.
A short walk down the quiet lane brings one to a main bus-route thoroughfare, with a conveniently situated shopping area, including a comprehensive supermarket, outdoor fruit and veggie stalls and an eclectic assortment of the establishments beloved of suburbia, including coffee-bars and restos. A five-minute ride on the metro places you in the center of the entertainment and dining areas, which are of a very high standard indeed.
In fact, we found the capital of Bulgaria to be unexpectedly charming, lively, friendly to the extreme and relatively inexpensive by European standards.
