“Delightful restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014 via mobile

I heard the story of the 'house despite' and opted to have lunch there, the house itself was beautiful, quirky and characterful, definitely worth a visit. I had a huge chicken salad, freshly prepared and nicely presented. The waiter was friendly and invited me to look around the restaurant after I had finished eating. The price was similar to other restaurants I had visited but more expensive than the traditional food sellers which I would describe as cafés rather than restaurants. My only warning to visitors is to beware of Bosnian coffee... It is very strong compared to expresso in the UK and most other places I have visited... One coffee during the day and I don't get much sleep, won't have any today!!!

“Huuuge tasty meals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

This place is fantastic! Everything from the view, decor, food and staff. There was three of us we sat in this little tower overlooking the river and the city hall, Waiter was really nice, my friends ordered begova corba which is kind of thick soup with chicken veggies and okra, and then for the main course i had veal rumpsteak but i asked for baked potatoes instead of rice, it was a great choice. meat was tender and tasty and patoes baked under a bell it was wonderfull! My friends ordered pita each(we didnt ask about the size). THEY ARE HUGE, so i would advise for people to split it because its a full pan, we ate one and then they doggiebaged the other one for us which we had later in our hotel room. I would recomend and will come here again

“Location and interior decoration worth a visit”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

The restaurant is locate just oposite of newly restored City Hall near the Šeher – Ćehajas bridge. The location and the history of the house are fantastic and deserve a visit. Unfortunately the diner was not as good as expected. The soup was cold, the meat very hard to cut and so on. It is really a pity. In any case only for the location and the interior decoration it the restaurant worths a visit. Definitely not for the food.

“A house you will look with a smile...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

From the outside just a house.. a restaurant, to be precise... But, what will make you smile is the story behind the house...
A long, long time ago, the house was supposed to be torn down, because the new city hall was supposed to be build on that place...
But the owner, old man Benderija said NO! This house is a place of my peace!
After a while and a few tries, he allowed the government to take his land, but under one condition:
they have to move his house, rock-by-rock on the other side of the river.
The house represents the stubbornes of Bosnian man.
