“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We were looking forward to visiting the tunnel, and had to persist in finding it as we had gone alone rather than as part of a larger party and it is not signposted.
It was hard to believe that it was such recent history, and one had to marvel at how the people who made the tunnel had worked to create it. This is not a glossy high tech exhibition but one that shows the human spirit is capable of much under difficult circumstances. Taking into account the history of Sarajevo it is certainly worth a visit.

This place HAS to be on your list. And if you're going to make the trip, why not do it with Sarajevo Funky Tours to get more insight and background to the tunnel, the process of making it and it's effect on the war.

“Go on a tour”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Near the Latin Bridge across from the Princip museum a tour company provides a tour for 30 marks (25 for students). We had an interesting presentation on the road out to the airport about the 1992-95 seige and the museum and walking through a piece of the tunnel were also interesting.

We met a couple who went alone in a taxi and were disappointed. Going with the guide is cheaper and very interesting.

“Such a special place”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Without this tunnel Sarajevo probably would not even exist. That is the first thing you need to know before visiting it. The location is a bit far from the city center but the visit is definitely worth it. You can not walk through the whole length of the tunnel but only 30 or so meters but do watch out for your heads as it is quite small. Before you actually enter the museum or the tunnel you should watch a 15 minute documentary if you are not familiar with the significance of the tunnel to the people of Sarajevo. They offer student discounts and a guide is included in the price.

“Lost Tunnel?”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

I tried to find this Tunnel on my own while walking from downtown Sarajevo. The closest I could find was a deserted old restaurant. A tunnel meant to be hidden will stay hidden. Unfortunately I could not converse well enough in German or Bosnian with those living in the area of the tunnel to get directions. Oh well, 6 hours hikes through the suburb.
