“Feeling welcome and as at home”

A lovely, comfy, cosy hotel in a perfect location in Sarajevo, just a slow 5-minute walk from Bašćaršija. Some of the previous reviews say it is uphill, one even says you have to walk through the road with no pavement from Bašćaršija to the hotel. Well, it is a little bit uphill, but nothing what would be a problem to anyone and it is on a normal town street with a pavement, but the problem is that the pavement is occupied by parked cars.
The hotel room was of a decent size, furnished modernly, perfectly clean, with perfecty comfortable bed and pillows , with book-shelves full of books and magazines. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. There was no mini-bar. Wi-Fi was functioning perfecly well in the room
The breakfast-room is just gorgeous, modern, full of books about Sarajevo, novels and magazines. One corner is decorated as a traditional Bosnian room. Breakfast itself was good, with OK offer, but they served only sliced bread, which was even a little bit dried (probably from standing in the open), nor rolls or pastry.
The receptionist was very kind and helpful.
We had transport from the air-port to the hotel included in the price.
All in all - I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We stayed at Hotel Boutique 36 for two nights in August 2012. The location is perfect, as it is only a two minute walk from Pigeon Square. The room was contemporary and clean and everything we needed, not a single complaint. The woman on reception was pleasant and helpful and cheery, and sorted out a load of laundry for us at a great price. Would definitely stay again.

Tip #1 - bar called Babylon in the Old Town is great for passing a few hours day or night, either chatting, or playing cards, or even just reading a book. The beer and wine both good, staff friendly and great at their job, and the British style music being played is a great and unexpected treat. Highly recommended.

Tip #2 - the tour to the tunnel under the airport (bookable from the tourist place close to the river right where the famous spot where Franz Ferdinan was shot, opposite the museum) was great - really interesting, and the guide Adnan was funny and interesting and made it a great tour - despite the lack of air con on the bus when we did the tour!

This is a fantastic choice of a hotel right in the heart of Sarajevo .

We stayed there for 4 nights in August 2012.The hotel offered us a free transfer from the airport to the hotel. The driver was incredibly helpful and along the way pointed out a lot of interesting sites.

The hotel itself is in a very central location and offers a comfortable standard of accomodation. The breakfast is excellent.

One of the best things about this hotel though is its staff. Everybody was just so helpful and courteous-any questions we had the answered-nothing was too much trouble.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed at this hoel for two nights in July. The location is very close to the old city, Our room was very good and although it was at the front of the hotel the noise levels were not excessive. Shower, breakfast and AC(very quiet) were good. The staff are all lovely and have excellent english and are very helpful. The hotel is well designed and great value. I would reccommend it highly.

Boutique 36 is a great value, located about 150 meters up from the old city. Simple, but super clean and comfortable, very friendly staff and a great price.

A very charming modern style place to stay in a good location. It's a short walk up a hill from the main action but this is not a problem. The staff were very helpful and the decor was great. I really appreciated the books. While the room was small it was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. The AC was on the whole time which made it very comfortable. The business cards at the reception show a range of guests from the media, regional corporate and education sectors. I would say that this hotel is not a real hotel. It brought me back to my youth hostelling around Europe. However, this would be the Ritz of hostels. The common facilities are rather limited. You are welcome to sit in the dining room and coffee is available. The really good thing about this hotel is the free shuttle to the airport which is just under a 30 min drive. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I was quite disappointed at our stay at Hotel Boutique 36. The location was not that good because you have to walk an uphill with lots of oncoming traffics and non-existent sidewalk (a lot of cars parked all over it) to get to the hotel from the Turkish quarter. It gets a bit scary sometimes. The room doesn't look as nice as the pictures on the website too. Everything looks worn and the space was weirdly designed. For example, the bathroom was spacious but there's no shelf space at all. Or there's an extra corner for a table but it's a weird tight space you don't want to be in. The breakfast room is quite nice but it was blasting loud pop music (like Britney Spears and such) at 7-8 am in the morning! I was definitely not in the mood for that at early hours. The food was quite bad too.

Another major disappointed thing was, on their website under "transportation", it says "Hotel Boutique 36 organises transport with a minivan to all destinations". That turns out to be not true. I sent an email prior our arrival about if they could give us a lift to the Tunnel Museum and the respond was something like "we'll see what we do." When we first arrived, we got a ride for free from airport to the hotel. That's nice. But then, next day we asked if they could take us to the Tunnel Museum as it was near the airport, they said it's not possible. I was like "huh?" We had no other way to reach the tunnel museum as the tram was under construction and Taxi was too expensive. So we end up couldn't go to there at all. It was such a big disappointment. And then when we have to get to the bus station to take the bus to Mostar, again they refuse to take us, even though the minivan and the driver was right at the front and not going anywhere. We asked about what they claimed on the website, the lady said "that was just for excursion, like to Mostar". Umm that's not what "Hotel Boutique 36 organises transport with a minivan to all destinations" means at all! You can't even transport us to The tunnel museum or the bus station, how's that "all destinations"? It was very misleading and we mentioned that, the lady didn't care and just gave a "whatever" attitude to us. Somehow that made us more angry than if she just admit they don't really do transfer service. I didn't even mind paying them to take us there, but nope, she wouldn't have it. So here's a warning to all, take that statement with a grain of salt.

From now on I would really go through the reviews on Tripadvisor as this place didn't have such good ratings to begin with, I should have listen. I do have to say though, one girl there was nice as she found out the bus schedule for us twice. She was friendly and helpful. The two stars goes to her.
