We booked a weekend trip to Sarajevo in Summer 2011.

At our appearence we were pleseantly met with an upgrade of our double room to a two bedroom suite that we adored! The hotel is special because it has an old traditional bosnian style to it of a higher class, furnished with antiques. The front desk staff were very helpful with the information and easy going. The breakfast was adequate, could have been better. The hotel was in a central location about a 5 minute walk to Bascarsija (the old town). It is best to prearrange a parking spot because they are scarce in the area, although when we arrived they were able to secure a spot for us. If you are looking for a spa, gym, or pool this may not the place to go, but if you want to expierence the elegance and soul of old town Sarajevo there is no better hotel in the area! Here you can find peace and tranquility amidst the bustling of downtown. We would gladly stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Michele for one night and found it to be a great place to stay. The hotel was really quiet (we arrived the day the film festival ended), as was the area around it. We were greeted by a very friendly man who gave us good suggestions of places to visit and restaurants. The room was a good size, although it did smell of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was clean and large, but oddly, there was no shower curtain or door, which just ensured that the floor got a bit wet when we showered. We both slept well on a comfortable bed. There's car parking on the street in front of the hotel. Breakfast was good - a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals and yoghurts, as well as a hot option (omelettes - which we had and were very good). Overall, a very nice stay.

This hotel is a great place to be close to downtown Sarajevo yet stay in a quiet neighborhood. The staff is accomodating, friendly, and will answer any question. The rooms are tastefully decorated and a great change from chain hotels. The town is a ten minute walk away, with local supermarkets even closer. Well worth a visit!

Nicely furnished and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. About a five minute walk from the center of town - down some steps, but nothing too strenuous. The staff was very accommodating with advice and taking care of calling a cab for an early morning departure. We were very pleased.

Room Tip: Room 25 was very comfortable.

This is one of the most pleasant and welcoming hotels anywhere. It is a family affair in every way, and they make you feel like one of the family. The reception will do anything to make your stay happy and comfy. The lobby is artistically eccentric in a very lovely way. The rooms are spacious, and quite comfortable. . The location is in a quiet residential area, a fifteen minute walk from the beautiful historic old town. You will be very happy that you chose Hotel Michele.

Room Tip: I only stayed in one, so am not an expert. Ask the reception when making your reservation to have M...

Hotel Michele was highly reccomended in our lonely planet book. It even mentioned that some celebrities had stayed there. As we went off season, the price was very reasonable. However, for a hotel that is supposed to be high quality, the towels were flimsy, the shower was not fully stocked with soap and shampoo (it was more a grocery store generic wash for everything). Also, the tv was one of the bulky older style ones. Another bothersome thing was that the lobby smelled a lot like cigarettes because the staff smoked there continously. While it is a cultural thing, it was quite offputting. However, the hotel had a cool eclectic feel, a full breakfast, a nice lounge and staff that could answer any of the questions you needed. The location was in a residential neighborhood but very close to the downtown walking area.

I know, it is a strange thing to say for a hotel, but the rooms I stayed in were just too large with a very strange interior decoration (or lacking of it). Rooms are dark and often very cold, at least outside the summer months. It is located close to the center but it is up the hill so get ready to excersize, especially on your way back to the hotel. Breakfast is fineand the dining rooms is nicely decorated, as is the reception area. If you come with the car be sure to reserve the parking place in advance as there are only few of them.

All in all not a bad place, especially since Sarajevo lacks good B&B places
