When in Sarajevo you simply have to try ćevapi, small finger-sized sausages made from a mixture of lamb & beef, served in fresh pita bread in portions of 5 or 10 along with fresh onions. We tried ours with a side order of cabbage, and washed the meal down with yoghurt and excellent local mineral water. Delicious!
This light, bright and cosy restaurant is situated in the Baščaršija district, the part of Sarajevo with the most oriental flavour, the centre of life from the arrival of the Ottomans in the mid 15th century until the coming of the Austria-Hungarians in 1878.
This restaurant is very popular with local people and the prices are extremely reasonable.
