We went on the siege tour for the day in September. Our guide was incredible, he didn't stop talking for 4 hours. Very personal and incredibly informative. By far the best thing we did in Sarajevo. I learnt so much and was really touched about the guide's personal experiences of the siege. An absolute must for visitors to Sarajevo.

From the minute I emailed Skender, the Director of the company, he was extremely responsive and went out of his way to make sure that I would be able to fit into an available time slot for his Total Siege Tour.

The Tour Guide, Arna was a wonderful woman. She was kind enough to patiently wait for us and even came and got me at a nearby pension I stopped by in when I got lost. Her warm, sincere demeanor as well as extensive knowledge of Sarajevo made the whole experience an amazing one.

Skender's brother was the driver and he ensured that we were all comfortable and safely transported to our destinations. And also need to mention very stylish and cool! On the way and back, our diverse group of 6 got to share travel stories, which was so much fun. I favored the intimacy of the tour as we were not herded onto a bus with 30 other people and rushed from one place to another.

We visited the he War Tunnel, Trebivic and Bob Sleigh track. Which are all places that are a bit challenging to locate and get to on your own. Especially the Bob Sleigh track. Arna never rushed us, but thoroughly explained about each location (without being boring) and patiently answered all our questions.

In the end, she and Skender's brother went out of their ways to even take us to the Goat Bridge (a lovely Ottoman bridge with an interesting story - you need to find out!) and Yellow Fortress which had amazing views of Sarajevo!

I want to emphasize that this is an enriching tour that really touches you. You are guaranteed to come out of the experience with something special. The staff REALLY go out of their ways (even if they are not obliged to) to make sure that you have a memorable experience. It did not even feel like a tour, but as if some trustworthy friends were taking you around!

We booked with funky tours online through their website, after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. The company emailed back within the hour of contacting them, and we were able to arrange to go on the Total Siege Tour.

We turned up for the tour, with baited breath, as it looked as though we were in the wrong place initially... The office is in a hostal, up a small alley, near to the Orthodox Church and it looks like you are in the wrong place! But you're not! Arna (Our guide) walked up to us and greeted us with a four leaf clover as a sign of friendship. We got into a lovely little mini bus to wait for the rest of the small group to arrive. (6 people in total) WIth one of the best drivers we could ask for! (Thanks Skender!)

The tour was amazing,,,a full incite into the war in Bosnia in the 90's and with visits to the Bob sleigh track (Which you need to be in a tour group for), the War Tunnel, and Trebivic. Arna was very knowledgeable and talked us through the happenings at each venue.

Not only did the trip include all these places, but the group were also willing to take us to the Goat Bridge and Yellow Fort (which were not normally included in the tour!)

The Tour was worth its weight in gold and more, as it allowed you to start to understand the city, its people and the culture surrounding its past, present and future.

A highly recommended trip!

6 people with different interests and only 4 days to visit Sarajevo - what to do? Book tours with Sarajevo Funky Tours.

Our tours began on Tuesday and ended on Friday evening. We've seen everything from Srebrenica to Mt. Jahorina and the Bob Sleigh Track on Mt. Trebevic, as well as climbed the tower in Pocitelj, seen the Buna Tekke in Blagaj and visited the old bridge in Mostar. We were offered the best of Bosnian culture and cuisine and our amazing guides gave us the best experiences ever.

If you want to know what happened during the Civil War in Sarajevo, I strongly recommend the Siege Tour. Dado did an amazing job, showing us the key points of the city and summarizing hundreds and hundreds of years of Bosnian history. Adnan and Ajla took us to Mostar, Jablanica, Blagaj and Pocitelj - and all the way they were keeping us entertained with their stories about Bosnia. Faruk was our guide to Srebrenica, and to see and hear the story from somebody who had experienced first hand was both chilling, but also very inspiring. The memorial site and museum are a great way to commemorate the atrocities that happened in Srebrenica in '95, and it's an important way to pin down the history. Our last day, Friday, was spent on foggy Mt. Jahorina also with Faruk, who - despite the rainy weather - managed to keep us all laughing and warm.

I can most definitely recommend Sarajevo Funky Tours to all of you, who want amazing sites combined with intelligent, funny and lovely guides.

We will definitely be visiting again. :-)

Amazing. The Story told by people who lived it on their own skin. My best excursion ever. We firstely visited the key points of the city during the Siege, from the van (i.e. sniper alley), then we moved towards the airport to learn more about the tunnel who saved thousands of lives. To finish with, we reached the positions from where Serbian snipers were shooting. Deadly real. So true, so interesting!
