Very comfortable, clean & secure accommodations-----Ideally located along the "border" between the Austro-Hungarian and older Ottoman-influenced sections of the greater old town.
The authentic "homey feel" is directly influenced by the very fact that it was once--in it's entirety--a grand home. And, remarkably, still owned & partially occupied by a member of the family. The resulting non-obtrusive and comfortable stay is a direct result of the pride and care taken by the owner and her family.
Could stand improvement on the rather basic breakfast-----but, all things considered, this place should be a TOP consideration for a comfortable and frugal stay in this inviting & fascinating city.

We had a fantastic time in Sarajevo, mainly due to the incredibly informative and interesting tour we were taken on by the (male) owner. The place is ideally located for travellers, right in the heart of the city, and is very clean and well set out. The owners are fantastic. They took me and my friend on a 4 hour plus tour, (great value for money)giving us some great insight into the recent history of the city from someone who witnessed it and driving us all about. Really helpful, very nice environment. The owners were champs, loved them.

Residence Rooms was one of the places that we stayed in our balkan holiday. because of its location and the price , it is good place for the young people. The owner of the hotel is also ver patient , so she answered all my questions for 3 days. To talk to someone local and informative is one of the things that l am always looking for in abroad. So l can recommend this hotel for the ones who are looking for cheap accom and best location.

Once you go in you can feel like you are home. The lady (owner) is really nice person. She is helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable.
Breakfast was included and it was OK (basic to be honest).
Toilet is not inside of the room. And it's clean.
Every place to visit is so close to here. It's located in a lovely street and just opposite there is an English designed pub "Cheers".
They provide you a parking area cheaper than the around though it's far from the city.
You should try their local dessert 'tufahije' and don't forget to learn about Srebrenica Genocide. And don't forget to visit the bridge where Ferdinand was killed (so-called the reason of WWI)
Overall it was a nice place...

As there were a few of us arriving on the same train from Mostar, the owner picked us up and drove us straight to the hostel for no extra fee, which was lovely. The location couldn't be better.

I loved Sarajevo so much, I extended my stay. I stayed in a couple of dorms - both of which were lovely and clean and had big lockers.

The real standout feature of the hostel is the common room/ lounge. It is a big room with sofas, chairs, a piano, and a TV with loads of DVDs, but it just feel SO homely. Another standout feature for me, as someone who loves to save money by cooking, was the kitchen. It was a big galley kitchen with all the appliances. It really felt like I was just staying at someone’s house, and I loved cooking in here.

After travelling for a long time, I can tell you there is nothing better than just coming back each night to sit on the sofa with a mug of tea and watch some TV!

The breakfast (included) was simple - fresh bread, cheeses, cereals and tea, etc. Nice enough.
I adored my stay at Residence Rooms. The hot water was out a couple of times, but it just meant using a shower on another floor - not a big deal.

The hostel is run by a local family, all of whom were very helpful throughout my stay. They had heaps of local knowledge and helped me to book my onward transport.

I’m generally not a big fan of guided tours, but the owner runs a brilliant Sarajevo tour, which costs €25. In it, he talks openly and candidly about life and personal experiences during the war. Although harrowing, it was a genuine and heartfelt tour, which visited some extra sites to other company tours. It was fascinating to hear about everyday civilian lives during the siege, and what life was like in this very hostel.

The only real downside to the Residence Rooms hostel was that it is literally just across the street from a bar, which can get pretty noisy at night. Of course, it’s nothing ear plugs won’t sort, but it’s definitely worth mentioning. For me, this was a small compromise for such an otherwise, perfect hostel.

This place is pretty good, but not great. It's an old, two-story apartment that has been converted into a hostel. The room we had was spacious, but the bed and furniture were pretty old. The location is good in the sense that it's right in the middle of everything, but it also means that it's incredibly loud at night. We were there on a weekend and had to sleep with ear plugs because the bar across the street was going until early morning.

The owner is a wonderful woman who actually grew up in the apartment. She's a university professor and was incredibly helpful and informative.

It is a nice Hostel to stay in the heart of Sarajevo. Everything is in walking distance. The hostel itself is nice and the owners live 1 floor above it so there is always someone available.
The only thing is (which is a general advice for Bosnia and Herzigovina) that they always try to give you change money in Euro, even if you pay in KM. It is not that much, what you loose but yes, I think Bosnians try often. So they say that they run out of KM but if you say that you would like to have KM as change there will be some soon. Beside of that, nice place to stay
