We had a fabulous view from our room of the original caravanserie, a mosque, a church, the hills of Sarajevo, and a modern art gallery. If you can tolerate a few 'third world' glitches, like keys that don't work, showers that flood, etc. this hotel is in a great location and has a lot to offer.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before thou move in. We were with a group and 3 people needed to change rooms bu...

This hotel has an outstanding location - near the river in the heart of things. The original hotel was demolished in the Homeland War in the 1990's. They rebuilt with much fewer rooms.
Mine was a very strange room. There is a built-in headboard and night tables. The problem is the bed is too wide to fit between the night tables. Thus the bed is about 2 1/2 feet from the headboard and any support when reading in bed. The window shutter can not open completely so one can not see out very well. There are two large stuffed armchairs, three tall standing lamps 2 wooden coffee tables, a mini-bar on which is perched a desk and two beds made up together to make a king sized bed.
Dinner in the restaurant was very good. The reception staff was friendly and professional. The room and bathroom are clean. I do miss a bathtub however. The wifi works like a charm.

Room Tip: 4th floor rooms leave a bit to be desired --- maybe ask to see the room before committing

Extraordinary location near the bazaar and the river, and the heart of town, silent luxury, reasonable proportions and prizes, good staff, decent despite the deals being struck here, and despite the security people of those dealers, waiting on the wonderful terrace...

Room Tip: Overlooking the bazaar!

Why this hotel has its current rating is mystifying. The internet in the room was barely functional and the bed spread stained and dirty. Our group had scheduled a dinner and was moved to a smoky, noisy coffee bar area that required us to walk around outside in the rain rather than the pre-scheduled dining room. The service was horrible, the food poorly prepared and served cold and the management of the hotel unresponsive.

Stay here at your own risk!

Checked into this hotel with a group: room number illegible, so of course key didn't work. Finally got in. Could not connect to internet in room. "technician" dispatched to help. Could not connect any of 3 devices. I suggested a different room. Was offered a markedly inferior room, where the internet did work. Decided against it, the. Got the internet to work VERY slowly in our first room. Group dinner totally mismanaged by hotel, sending us on a wild goose chase outside the hotel, looking for a non existent door to get into the dining room. After 3 miscommunications with our leader (while we waited outside in the pouring rain)' we were escorted into the bar/ice cream parlor full of smokers. After much complaining the group was offered a choice of a tiny scotch or tiny glass of wine as an "apology", but no choice of either! Suffice it to say that our leader spent most of the dinner trying to work with hotel management, who was clueless. Oh, and dinner when it Arrived, was cold. Never never never stay here. Oh, and the bedspread is filthy.

Room Tip: Don't stay here is the best advice I can give you. Or else be prepared to complain A LOT.

when me and my husband arrived there, there was nobody to help us with the luggage, nobody to show us where is the room- we had to find it ourselfs! We had to provide our visa card for security reasons as passports was not enough - I've travel a lot and never had something like that in any hotel ( five star hotel)!, two times we had to ask for extra towels as they been leaving us only for one person!
But the worst was when we left the hotel- we paid over 800 euro cash for six nights and after coming back to Ireland we realized that they took money from our bank account again!!!
After my husband rang them several times they said that it was bank mistake and it's frozen so we wont get them back for another two weeks!
They shouldn't be a five star- three maybe

Wonderful location in the old city. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. Cafe was VERY smoky. Easy access to the sites in the old city. Felt safe walking alone in the evening. Wonderful city. Wonderful people!
