“Good location close to old Sarajevo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2012

Good hotel however a rethink of the lobby and temperature controls in the room would give it an advantage.
I enjoyed the breakfasts-plenty of fresh fruit, smoked salmon however it tends to be all cold however i'm sure the kitchen would have cooked up other things upon request.
I had a room on 6th floor looking into a courtyard-absolutely nothing to see excpet the opposite rooms-so no points for any view!
Good for business, good rates, friendly reception and the coffee shop on the ground floor is a great meeting place for visitors and locals alike.

I stayed in Europe hotel for 2 nights for business purposes which were organized in the hotel too. Hotel is exactly at the pedestrian street and Bascarsija (the old shopping area in Sarajevo). I was staying at the 4th floor looking at the enterance of the hotel and it was totaly quiet. Rooms were enormous (25-30m2) with a huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and all bathroom amenities. Food is also very good, for breakfast there is a great selection for everyone. Recepcionists are very helpfull and kind, so you can ask them whatever you need to make your stay the best.

I would recommend to try some local food at restaurant "Pod Lipom" which is at the beginning of Bascarsija (100m from hotel), especially "pita" (pie) "klepe"(sort of ravioli with creme and garlic stuffed with meat) and "Begova corba" (broth).

Hotel is great for any kind of stay, because of its great offer and location!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights durring some business meetings that we also had organized in the hotel. Facilities in the hotel are actually very good and it is very recommended for the meetings. I was staying in the top floor in this hotel. Practically in the roof of the hotel so I had a two windows in the ceilings so i would be able to observe stars if fog would not be all around during my stay there. Wireless is free of charge and you get your code in the reception. Breakfast is rich and you can select varieties of food but the complaint i have that food is a bit cold. Is it a breakfast or is it a lunch or dinner. This i did not like as I like to have something hot on my table. What I also can complain is that during my stay temperatures in the rooms are too high if windows are not opened to compensate. So I had opened windows also durring my night time. Otherwise if windows are closed than these temperatures can be 28C what is way, way to much. With windows opened on a chilly night -5C outside it dropped to normal 21C. There is also a Vienna Coffee shop which is quite busy in the afternoons and evening so it is worth to visit if you are for this kind of ambients. Some if the staff and cleaning ladies are very kind and they will personally show you the way if you are somehow lost in this quite big hotel. I can also say good words about the cleanliness of this hotel as it was spotless each day and they also made my sleeping cloths who I just dropped on the arm chair.

Two things they need to improve in order that this hotel really deserves ***** as it is declared to be.
- to set the temperature of the rooms to normal temperature and not sauna temperatures
- providing hot food in the dinning area

Contrary to some of the previous reviews my experience was very positive. The room I was given was on the 4th floor and was very spacious and quite confortable. The hall is frankly not very nice and could be made better by using the couple of rooms that lead to the lifts. The room was very good, very good TV and bathroom (some problems understanding how to use the shower controls). All rooms have a computer connected to the TV. There is wirelee connection in the whole hotel for free. Nothing special is the restaurant but the breakfast is substantial.
Positive:
Price for service
Pool and SPA
Staff
Negative
The lights in the corridors are automatic and tend to be very slow forcing you to walk in the dark

The room on the 6th floor is very small, the bathroom poorly disigned so you cannot sit on the toilet because of the sink, and then you cannot close the shower door as you cannot fit in the shower since the door is on the inside of the shower instead of the outside. So I got burned by the very hot pipes from the hot water as you need to move so the door can open and close. The fridge is not working and even after they promised to take care of it nothing happened. The room is so hot that you cannot stand it and the air con is not working either.
You have to pay extra for the sauna which is redicoulus.
All in all I will not stay here again.

Not bad hotel, but far away from 5 star. Not even 4 star. Too expensive for that what they offer

This is a 5 Star hotel located in the central downtown part of Sarajevo. The rooms are large and well furnished. It is convenient for old town shopping and near many nice restaurants and bars. The restaurant is clean with good food and nice service. A small but well equipped gym is available with a very nice spa but the spa costs extra.
